Thread: an hour out of a day of working in the bestine cantina...

i find it really supprising how i can dance in a cantina that usually has some sort of life for an hour, being the only live entertainer, seeing thirty customers come in, and leave, after healing, and some brief conversation that i could only get TEN credits. but the fact that getting only ten credits isnt the big problem, the thing that annoys me is the fact that no matter how much i tried to get conversation going, i could only get a single reply from any one person, and then be ignored. even after being nice, and greeting people as they come in. but normally i can get some decent conversation going, and have some cash flow as far as tips come. has our profession(s) actually gotten so bad, that in a cantina full of afk novice entertainers, innewbie clothes, that alive, anda master dancer displayingtheir titleis ignored so?

sorry for the above, but i had to get it out of my system, as it annoyed me.

but anyways, at least they cant take my voice, nor my view of a distant light at the end of the devolopment tunnel for the entertainer professions

and yet again i apologise for taking up space with yet another partial rant, maybe it's the fact that i worked a graveyard shift last night,

That light at the end of the tunnel... if you want to live run away. But a very profound way of saying that our time is coming...

Cheers. I'm in limbo for the end of the holo-grinders. I loved the days when the cantinas were full of ATK players. (Hence why I'm keeping my Master Dancer prof.)

hrm, I had a very different experience yesterday...

I only had dancing 4, but after panth00 and doc and nos left at 11pm, I joined the big ent group. some people were actually atk, and we started talking. the leader actually kicked afk people for atk ones, and I was very happy eventually he had to leave (and went afk, unfortunately) and I got leader. I also booted afks for new people, and I greeted/waved/used random emote on most people that walked thru the door. a lot of people I saw tip when they see that you're atk, which really cheered me up by the time the server restarted I ended up with a few conversations, a few goofy moments, and an actual income.

many of you know I'm a pretty "hardcore" entertainer... and I actually spent some of that time talk with other people about afk entertainers. I also lashed out at a kiddie after she freaked out on me, but that's beside the point

I had a similar experience last night.

I was in Theed of all places, and even though there were still AFK chatter there, the majority of the chatter was ATK people! It was amazing!

*sniff* I so missed that, and I'm super happy that it was back!

I've had nights like that....it can get really annoying.

"Hi so-and-so, how are you doing today?"
no response
"Boy, you've got a lot of mind wounds. What, did a Krayt Dragon follow you home?"
no response

It'll go that way for an hour at least, sometimes. Usually, though, the party will liven up after a while.

Dantooine can be bad for entertaining too. Usually, theres 3 or 4 afkers in the cantina. But if you are lucky, you'll find somebody who will interact with you when they come in. Try asking for hunting stories, cuz usually theres someone who wants to talk about how badly their last mission went, and it can generally be quite amusing. And Dantooine can be a good place for buffing, too.

I havesome great days in the cantina in which it's allready hard to keep up with the groupchat, let alone the /tells, and days when I wanted to /cry, walking in and not even finding a group leader atk (usually in Theed, for some reason this seems to be Zombie hide-out)

today was a blast though, and will hopefully continue down the same path

Lively conversation, interesting content, swinging the house.. having a ball!

The days I'm the only one atk are great for tipping but, by the Force, I so prefer lively days with less money - more fun!

i really find it amazing how from day to day the entertainment in the bestine cantina can vary, one day i'm the only entertainer, and then two days later there's a large group of entertainers doing bandflo's, and the conversation was flowing, it was alot of fun, to log in and see all this happeining, and partake in it . i just wish the people that play music got as much notice as the dancers, well i guess nalargon stealing can be taken as recignition of existance, but it's quite annoying. but anyways, it was a fun time dancing, and playing music. it makes me remember why i want to be a entertainer!
