Hi all. I'm looking to run some special effects droids for the dancers around me. I'm wondering which of the effects modules are the most desirable, in your opinions? I want to take (probably) the three "best" of them and shove them in an affordable R2 unit for my customers who are "real" dancers.
I would appreciate your feedback! I would also like to share this information with my fellow DE's on our profession board. Help us help you.
The effects modules are:
Avian
Confetti
Dancing Jawa
Electric Fog
Foam
Mind Bloom
Even if you just want to rank them in order from most-favored to least-liked, that's good too. Thanks guys and gals.

I have a Mouse droid that has the Foam effect and the Dancing Jawa, and I would like to also have the conffeti but I'm not sure if a) my DE forgot about it or 2) you can only have 2 effects on a mouse droid
I think everyone has the R2 units because that can hold all the effects but if you want to get only 3 or 2 make some small mouse droids, they look better behing an entertainer, they don't use a lot of space and some people don't notice them, (I make my droid hide in the backstage )

I have an R2 unit that is capable of having 5 effects. I also have an R3, which is capable of having all 6 effects. So, if you're looking for the droid that'll hold all of them, go for the R3. If you're definitely using an R2, then you can have up to 5 and you really only need to leave out one of them.
As to my top 3, however, they are as follows:
1.) Foam, definitely foam...yes, foam parties!! My dream is to open my own Cantina, with several other dancers/musicians, and have enough foam droids to cover the entire floor. Then, we'll all get into hotpants and run around, jump up and down, and then...well, I'm just going to stop while I'm ahead here.
2.) Dancing jawas/lasers are very cool. I mean, really, what foam party is complete without a few lasers?
3.) Confetti. Again, a foam party is not complete without confetti.
All of them are very cool, but if I had to pick 3 definites for a droid, those would be the three.

Thanks for your response guys!
I have always, and will always continue to produce the R3 ADV with all 6 modules. I'm more looking to get the most popular three into one droid for a good use to price ratio for those entertainers who are newer to their profession.
I picked R2 because it's popular and holds exactly three modules. (Drygo - it's actually the R2 Advanced that can hold 5 - but that one costs a lot more to produce than the standard R2 model - might as well go with the R3 Advanced if an entertainer wants to go that route)
Thanks again, I'll keep watching! So far, it looks like foam and confetti are must-haves, but the third one is still a bit debatable. I like the Dancing Jawas (I call them Jawa Ninjas
) myself, but I can see how they wouldn't necessarily fit in with some acts.

So hard to decide! They're all really pretty, and all have unique qualities that make them good for different situations.
- Foam: I love it for the "rave" quality it brings to a party. Very clever.
- Avians: Really pretty and great for weddings (set up a few droids to do this one with the shortest break possible, and turn them on after the vows - instant dove release!).
- Dancing Jawas: seem to be a crowd favorite.
- Confetti: makes a party a party, and I expect a lot of use around the holidays.
I guess my two least favorite are electric fog and mind bloom, I mean I like them both, but they're kind of similar. Between the two I guess I like mind bloom better.
To choose a favorite, ouch, that's tough. I guess I'd have to go with Foam or Dancing Jawas.

Actually, I like Mind Blooms. :-) Avians are alright - I really like Jawas - but there needs to be more confetti!
When are we gonna have a rave in the deserts of Tattooine!?!? We could call it "Burning Twi'Lek"!
(for those of you who don't know, there's a rave called "Burning Man" - please don't feel I'm advocating the burning of Twi'Leks)

Okay, so it's not that bad, but almost. I hardly ever use my R3 droid, to be honest. I find the incesent beeping and his bulk a nusance. I like the Avian and the Confetti the best. I detest the Dancing Jawas themselves, although I like the laser light show that comes with them.

I don't think you could call Burning Man a rave!
It's a spiritual experience. ![]()

It's definitely an experience...true enough that it is not a rave, though it has some ravey aspects (I know, I made up that word). Truly a unique experience though.
