I just became a dancer last night and had a great time! I read your boards here and thought I would post a thought. I see alot of comments about how people have insulted dancers or caused someone grief. If someone hassles you or does something you don't like, just duel and kill them, that will get your point across quickly. You may win or lose, but at least you stuck up for yourself.

Or simply quit dancing. No one can force you to heal them. One day, a group of us were dancing and some real jerks came in. All the dancers had trouble from them before, and we staged a sit in. We stopped dancing and playing for everyone. They continued to harrass us but they knew that we weren't going to heal them. After awhile they left and we resumed dancing. It might bother the other patrons there, but we don't have to put up with crap. The only thing that was good about the whole situation was the solidarity. Everyone one of us stopped and sat down. All the patrons understood our reasoning and I think they even helped to get them out of there. You don't have to fight anyone, just realize that they're griefers and you can stop healing them if you want. They'll leave if they're not getting healed. You might loose a customer or two, but if they really cared about you dancing, they'd help you out too.

Aye, I'm with Verna. There are some particularly rude folks on Starsider who came into the Cantina in Keren once and started insulting all the dancers, cursing, whatever. Nothing horrid, so I just refused to dance anymore Every single time they come in, I sit down - and most times am joined by everyone else when I apologize to other patrons for stopping

In the end though, the problem is that there is no way for us to /block service. It would be ultimately helpful to have such a command, not only for those who are obnoxious, but for those who come in constantly beat to hell and back, demand attention, make requests, and then give a 15c tip

As for dueling - do you really think that type of person is willing to? Someone came into Keren last night and was slapping and punching people - about four customers offered a duel he would not accept. He wanted to fight me People like that are cowards - they come in and do it because they can, with no explanation or excuse, and are more than happy to use the game mechanics (or lack thereof) to their advantage.

Would be nice to have that ability, Ya, but we're back at the game mechanics point - unless both are overts of opposite factions, the bouncer can do nothing if the person won't accept a duel. I've had customers offer duels on my behalf - same deal. I'd LOVE to be able to hire brawlers or bouncers for Cantinas, or have the option to block customers. Well, what I'd really love is if no one was such a jerk we needed them, but I AM at least a little realistic

I'm almost a rifle specialist with my character. Kinda put dancing on the backburner to do some work for the Empire and get my offensive skills up. That way I can sneak into Anchorhead and entertain the rebels and listen in on their plans... and if they abuse my services, harass me, or something, I have the skills to back up the duel.

I agree with all the letters posted in this thread. Duel them and kill them. Unfortunately, duels can be declined and the gutless types that pick on dancers will usually wuss out. My advice? Get some unarmed training. Don't let anyone know; don't put up your unarmed titles. Act all shy and scared. Let them think they've scared you into a fight. Then WIPE THE FREAKING WALLS WITH THEM! This is my plan. I haven't dueled yet, I need a lot more work. Right now I just have to grin and bear it. Soon, my time will come; yours too.

Hire a bouncer! Maybe even pay for contract work. You dancers got skill, I'm sure you can find some heroic champion to save the cantina for the low lifes.
