Just out of curiousity, and I suppose some of this does come into immersion factors for the players, but what is it that you think of when you think of a cantina?

I ask because I find it hilarious when people are like don't fight, talk, etc in the cantinas. When I think of a cantina, I think of....walking into a dimly lit, crowded room..where it almost feels dirty just to look around because of the lighting and smokey feel to the air. Having to push past people to find a seat somewhere, breathing in their sweat and blood from the days affairs. Maybe seeing a smuggler or bounty hunter sitting in a corner room conducting unknown buisness and not caring because all I'd want to do is sit down and melt away in the crowd. Looking up to see an okay band playing..nothing spectacular (definatly not the afk robots that we see/hear)...dancers swaying to the music one way or another. Not all doing the same thing as they're all working off their own tips -- hollaring out hello's or winking to the boys...whatever is their way. Just sinking into the room, a bartender in the corner..getting a drink...just fading watching the dancers, listning to the music --maybe cheering a bar fight for whatever side...some people yelling cheering, maybe getting into it with them as well..maybe a few protesting, but mostly just getting out of the way....

I do not picture -- silent dancers (even non afk dancers -- i know you're doing tells/groupchats..but...), people shouting out the same thing over and over -- hell a silent crowd -- i do understand that since I role play it makes it a bit easier for me (((as a dancer))) to shout out and talk to people, but even when I'm not doing the dancing, I might nod in someone's direction, say hello...if I see someone familiar I'll do a wave or something...lol fights...

Now anything I've said here I meant no disrespect for anyone and their views..this is only what I picture and am wondering what anyone else pictures...please don't respond complaining as this is not what this is about

I see pretty much the same thing. I would prefer as would most of us would the fights to be kept out though if not for any other reason than lag. Obi Wan and Luke didnt have to wade through the ever growing lag that seems to be making its way into even the empiest of cantina's ::chuckle::

I think of a cantina as a nice place to visit, but I would not want to live there.

Sure it'd be great if cantina's were nice clean havens...but in the movies were they ever, no....now a private cantina -- hecks yeah, I helped run one for a bit, it's wonderful to run your own with your own rules making nice and clean -- but honestly in town ones just even by the light...*shrugs* not a nice place to me =)

Of course like I stated, I enjoy an immersian factor of the game I do agree that sometimes the gunfights can lag it up, and that stinks, but what's worse? Like 30sec-2min of lag, or 5 entertainers spamming the cantina about getting out, and nobody listning to them !

Anywho, just a though
