i just tried this out on TC:

i haveTess and Joungrouped, and i did a /setperform on Tess, thanon Jo.then i sorta cheated and sped up my action usage for a bit (sorry) when they stopped Tessdidn't get the buffs, butJo did.

ps. now comes the interesting part:

we tried this again withJo dancing (ooh, the beauty of agroup of master dancer friends ) however this time she /setperf me, i watch, then she /setperf Tess, and she watches. when we stopped watching, something funny happened. I got a buff for 199 mind for a bit over 2 minutes, and Tess got a full buff for 24 minutes.

...

So we're guessing that it depends on the amount of time the dancer has /setperf on you, or something like that. if raven/tiaga wants to replicate the test again or if they want me to try this for musician, youguys know where to find me

I know I can't get a buff if I'm performing as well, get two minute things like that.

I did a /listen to a musician, he /setperform'd for me then about a minute later did it to somebody else, while I sat doing nothing, then my buff lasted the full 2 hours. So maybe it just applies to music? Also, were your dancer friends you tested this on performing, or sitting and watching, doing nothing? I just sat in a chair while I was buffed.

I also found something else later. I had been buffed, then went and died right away. I was able to reactivate my music buff by listening to myself after I cloned. I'm just trying to find a way to -truely-buff myself, hehe.

thanks, doll. You are now my hero. I made the same assumption that it was one at a time on the setperform.

Save your breath. You'll need it later to blow up your date.

Yeah, I do guildies like this but not patrons because I'm not 100% sure it doesn't effect buff length (it doesn't really seem to) and it's not the norm so people don't expect it (I don't want anyone thinking I'm cheating them). I'd like to know the official word on this. Tech effects too. I've done a lot of buffing now and I'd like to have some solid answers... everything that I've read in this forum (including the tacked guide) and the things I'm seeing in game don't add up. Are patrons supposed to be able to change posture or not? Sometimes it seems to effect the buff and sometimes it doesn't.

Ok, sure, we have to wait on the visual aid blah blah blah... can't we just have a real guide? I don't understand why we have to go by rumors and personal tests. This isn't a technical class like BE where guessing recipes and experimenting makes some sense... or is it supposed to be? Is this supposed to give those that are willing to recruit test subjects the ent edge like a good pet recipe can a BE? What's the deal?

we only had 1 person dancing at a time, and that's the one giving the buffs.

so my conclusion would be that once she did a /setperf on Tess, it's equivalent to her stop dancing from my pov. therefore when i did a /stopwatch, the buff appears.

as for if it's just musician or not, i haven't tried yet... however i doubt that works.
