I’m trying to think out of the box here, and it's real rough at this point, so bear with me. My though is this…
What if entertainers had a ranking system, where you run entertainer missions to gain popularity? When you walk into a cantina, only the 2 top rated dancers & musicians that registered in that venue are able to buff there. Anyone else can heal, entertain & generally BS, but if they want to buff, they need to find another venue, or run more missions to increase their popularity. If it’s been a while since you ran missions, you’d find that you’ve lost popularity, and need more exposure to get it back.
Think of it this way… You walk into your favorite watering hole on a Saturday night. In the front of the house you see some no-name band you never heard of, in the back is [insertbig name band here]. Which band are you going to pay attention too?
The idea is real rough at this point, and it’d need a lot more thought before it was ready for anything, but it might give some value to entertainer missions, and possibly lay the basis for some rivalries or even turf wars.
What’s good about this? It’d encourage players to get outside their usual cantina, either for missions or looking for new ground to buff from. We might see players buffing on Yavin, Lok, from the hotels & who knows where. For those that want to see the game expanded for entertainers, this might be a step in the right direction. Bots would simply be screwed any time a real player was in the house, and that's always a good thing.
What’s bad about it? There’s a lot of room for griefing. A player can take over a cantina and refuse to buff. A novice might be able to take a cantina away from a master if player skill isn’t built into popularity. Players who want to go to their favorite entertainer in the usual spot for their buff might be SOL. Entertainers who have no interest in any kind of missions might hate it.
What do you think? Any ideas on how get rid of negatives and make more plusses? Or should I just crawl back under my rock and shut the hell up?

Idea of the ranking system has been thrown around before, i like it, however i dont like things being limited to highest ranking registered.
We are getting rid of buffbots soon we dont need to limit live entertainers imo.
As a 'rough' idea its good, maybe have fame as local fame and galactic fame and such, and even have npc's react to their celebreties would be awsome really
There was a few other idea's a while ago along this line which i liked

Ranking system which is non-competitive i would prefer given more thought. Something similar to what i suggested once before
One would gain in rank/fame by sacrificing a set amount of dancer/musician exp in a similar way to the village quests (not as harsh as that tho obviously) and structured similar to imperial/rebel factions.
You gain a rank and perks are available to you.
You can sacrifice exp for perks orto gain another rank to get the higher perks. Each rank granting a new selection of perks
Perks would be things like...
New Dances - costs 300k dance experiance each
New Instrument schematics - costs 300k musician experiance each
New Songs - cost 300k musician exp each
Full Mind+sub stats for the mind buff - 500k ent healing exp
+5 bonus to mind enhancement (counted against the +25) - 250k ent healing exp
New Type of Dance/Music Buff
Dance Mastery - never fall again - 100k dance experiance
Planetary Fame - random npc's on selected planet will speak of your performances in casual conversation, and cheer for you at your presence. - 300k dance/music experiance
Galactic Fame - As above however it covers the galaxy - 900k dance/music exp
..... List could go on im sure.
And to further thinking... maybe something similar could be done for all proffessions

Having something to do with all that Dance & Ent Healing xp would be a bonus. Feels like it took forever to master, but only a week or 2 to be capped on xp.
I enjoy dancing for the sake of dancing, but having something more to work toward would be great

I sort of liked a ranking system that had at the top of the system something like the FRS system like say 20 spots that you would have to try and keep for bonuses or use of certain items or something.

Anything that adds post-Master content would be a welcome addition, whether that comes in the form of new dances or venues or certain perks for the cream of the profession (like the Jedi system).
Going off of the popularity idea, what if elite Entertainers could earn access to content currently reserved only for those who choose combat classes? e.g. At a certain level of popularity, a Rebel character might be asked to perform for an Alliance ceremony, a Neutral character might be commanded to perform for one of Jabba's cronies, and an Imperial might be summoned to perform for Lord Hethrir. The more pleased the lower-levelNPC is, the more renowned the player becomes, and the Entertainer will eventually come to a performance for the highest level of the themeparks and receive a badge as well as access to the facility.
This gives non-combatant Entertainers the same opportunity to do something for their faction as any combatants have.
/shrug It's been discussed before, I guess, but it can't hurt to bring these things up again for further refinement and discussion!
