Thread: a frustrating bug has developed in my cantina

I just moved my cantina about 100 meters in our city (don't ask..). When I went to redecorate it, I discovered that the /rotate (left/right) (degrees) command does not work. I had other players test it and it didn't work for them either. I sent in a CSR ticket describing the situation. I got a response that they had tested the command in a house and it worked fine. So I too went to a house and sure enough it works fine there but not in the cantina. Naturally we are having a party at my cantina in just 3 days! I have submitted another ticket but I'm not hopeful since it's really not a big issue for most people. Has anyone else recently tried to rotate furniture by increments inside their cantina? Is there a way around this?

any help is appreciated!

Hmm. Two guys in the Music forums had similar problems withtheir cantinas. They can't move things up or down on-stage or in the front entry. It seemed towork fine in the Memorial and the Drunken Tusken. Warryyr also said it worked in his cantina. I'll testrotating tonight to see if I can stilldo that.

Do you receive any error messages when you try torotatethings? Where is your cantina located (x,y,z coords)?

Given that the tests saying "it works for me" have been from people who've had their cantinas placed for a while, I'm hypothesizing this is a bug that only appears on cantinas that have been 'placed' (moving counts, since you have to re-deed and all) recently. I also wonder if any other buildings are affected, if they're 'new' buildings. Has anyone placed a cantina recently and had no problems rotating or moving up and down, in all areas of the cantina?

All other move commands work just fine in my cantina and in all areas. I just can't rotate in increments. When I try to I get a Format: correction message with the exact same format I am using - and yes I have verified I'm not mistyping.

I'll post the coordinates later.

It sounds like what used to happen when you had a named item that has the same first part as the command you are trying to use. I first bumped into this in my Cantina on SS. I ran to my house to see if I was broken but I could move things up fine there, so I thought it was a Cantina bug. It turns out that I had some upholstered chairs in my Cantina that were messing up the command for me.

I had kinda thought that they changed that, but maybe not or maybe it's back. Also, they might know over in the Architect forum.

Make sure any items not crossing a line, which I mean, your items not intersect with a wall or stairs or such. It happens time to time and EVENdiffers fromyour "viewing angle" on screen.

I recently placed a cantina (within the past 2 weeks or so) and haven't had problems except what seline has said -- if I have something that intersects a wall I have to move it to where it doesn't then rotate or tweak it, then move it back. As such, I'm still decorating.

One thing that I used to have to do is put "a" in the command to be able to move up or down. As in "/move a up 100" instead of "/move up 100." Even if the item's name didn't start with a. I have NO idea why, all I know is it worked when "/move up 100" didn't. Maybe try that, I dunno. Then we can all say "Hooked on a-Move worked for me!"

Okay, not even 1pm and I've had too much caffeine.

That's priceless.

Seriously, this thread is the embodiment of what is wrong with SOE's customer service. They're far too anxious to get back to their games of Yahoo! Pool and cups of coffee to actually bother to READ the question, let alone accurately and helpfully answer it. Drives me up the wall. Sending in a customer service ticket is an exercise in futility in an SOE game. I learned that LONG ago.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I actually did get a second response from a CSR the same day. Turns out the command is bugged in newly placed structures. The work around is to type the direction twice. For example:

/rotate left left 30

It worked like a charm! Also seems to work with the other commands if they too are bugged for you.

Hooray for CSR's taking the time to help with the little things - how many reports must they get in a day and they got right on this problem that might affect a small handful of people out of the entire community!

cheers,
