I checked the patch notes, nothing... Can you talk? I was just taking a cookiee break and put my character on AFK and tried as I sometimes do to say silly things to keep myself amused. Nothing. I made a macro which talked - nothing. She still does emotes. When I swapped off AFK, she talks.

Is this just me or HAS AFK SPAM GONE AWAY?

And why do they not take out the "Auto AFK Enabled" checkbox?

Do they want us to have more spam or less?What is this about?

Oh... I hope this is nota bug.

Do you have "ignore AFK chat" (or whatever) enabled?

I've panicked about this, too.

I'd lay odds you have "Ignore chat from AFK players" checked. Meaning...you don't see chat from anyone AFK. Including you.

I disbanded a group, reformed it, logged out and back in, logged out rebooted and logged back in, all before I finally figured out what the problem was. :/

Check your chat settings if you have AFK-chat off (or whatever it’s called)
I remember one time if happened to me I was so confused thinking I was bugged I re-logged to try to fix it.

Happened to me too once, don't feel bad about it

One problemis that you can't see the AFK tag on yourself, even if you target yourself - so you'll just have to try /afk to see what your status is...

I will admit that I did this once myself with my CH/BE... and couldn't figure out what happened to my speach. I think I had turned afk on when I took a BR break while sitting in a cantina getting my BF healed between missions, then forgot to take it off when I came back and left the cantina to go hunting.

CTRL+1 is how I always target myself, but that does NOT show the AFK tag on myself. Never did for me anyway - is that any different for anyone else?

With my keymapping (old style EQ mapping) it's F1, but I still never, ever see whether I'm AFK when I target myself.

Although instead of flicking your tag on and off, if you're not sure, you can look under the same menu where you pick what title to display. There's checky boxes there, where you check to be a newbie helper, to mark yourself as a roleplayer, write your bio, etc. You can actually just check a box to be AFK -- so logically, if you want to check without advertising the fact, you can just peek at the box.

Your right I go AFK so seldom I missed the fact that AFK doesnt show only your profession tag, rank and faction status will accept a whipping as punishment.
