So I thought of the following idea. It may have been suggested before, though, as it's not really revolutionary. I just think it might solve this issue. - IF the devs were interested in solving it.
When someone tips you, either by bank or directly, a confirmation screen appears, where you can accept the tip, or refuse it. Naturally, the default button would be the "refuse"-button to avoid auto-accepting issues.
Now, if you fail to make your selection within 2 or 3 minutes, you get the default selection. Again: Refuse.
Might just make it less interesting to leave your character running.
Anyway - just thinking out loud here.

Makes sence to me, but then again I have very little experiance with dancing, so... /shrug...
To tell you the truth, I never ever tip anyone who's AFK, you're either ATK or I tip you not...
Anyway, from one broken profession to another, don't leave, we, well *I* at least still like you...

In general, I like the idea of choosing whether or not to accept a tip. Once upon a time, a smacktard asked me to marry him while tipping me 100k banktip. At that point I didn't have enough in the bank to afford to tip it back to him with the 5% surcharge. So I ran to the bank, converted it to cash, and tipped it back. I would have preferred to be able to refuse the tip. As a practical matter, never pend a 5% surcharge on a smacktard anyway.
However, *any* sort of popup box can cause griefing. In the days before the ID revamp, there was a bug which allowed you to offer an ID change to someone not in your group. People were using that to grief others. Yeah, that's right, Mr. Macho Man would take up novice entertainer to spam the "accept change" window in order to distract enemies in PvP. Lame, but just goes to show that a popup window caused by another person can cause all sorts of issues.
