Hail Dancers and Musicians....

For I am both, and not a buff bot. Boo BuffBots.

I have a real question. My wife, also a Dancer/ID, are live entertainers. However, we are having real problems getting our bandflourishes in sync. We are ussually a step off or so.

Now, before you ask, I am not a Master Dancer....yet. Dancer is my second prof, so does that have something to do with it?

When I get Master, will we be in step? She is a Master...so....

Tid-bit: We are on Scylla, and our pings are at around 100. Could that be it?

And finally....food for thought and to make yall laugh....

I wish ImageDesign didn't require someone on the other end to confirm changes...I would go through a cantina and REALLY mess up some AFK'rs...

Butt Ugly stuff....Buwahahahaa....dream of mine.

Depending on server lag, the person who initiates the band flourish for dancers can end up a step or two ahead of the rest of the group. Everyone ELSE will appear in perfect sync, but the leader may not. Not sure what causes it, but its not just you and it has nothing to do with mastery.

Hail Javier,

Have to say, I'm a big fan of CCXII. So is my wife.

Even took the text out of it and typed the entire thing in a macro under /recite...lol

I did give you credit, of coarse.

I got some mixed replys on it. Some 'thank you's' and some 'drop dead's'....and one 'Let's go to this Buffbot place and protest outside.' LoL.

Considering Scylla server population is so low, I can understand all the responses. I just dont agree.

The way I figure...awareness for players is the best thing I can do. Since Dev's won't.

Your words are spreading out there bro. Keep up the great work.

/salute

One way to deal with the sync problem between the person doing the bandflo and the other dancers, if you need high precision, is to have the person doing the bandflo be dancing basic off stage and running the bandflos from there. This works well when you are trying to do acoordinated routine between two or more dancers where any lack of sync would be highly noticable. The dancer doing the bandflos does not need to be doing the same dance as the other dancers and if they are off stage and out of sight to the audience, all the audience sees is a perfect routine.

"I got some mixed replys on it. Some 'thank you's' and some 'drop dead's'....and one 'Let's go to this Buffbot place and protest outside.' LoL."

Should have seen some of the comments I got about it offline.

People fear change and a lot of them are selfish. The decent folks will always stand up for what they know is right, not just what they believe is in their own best interests.

And to be fair, I cannot take credit for the timeline. I asked the fine folks here and on the musician forums to dig up all the information for me. You can see their names in the credits, they are the ones who deserve your praise and the credit for the work on the timeline.

Thank you for the feeback.....

Seems my wife and I routines are doomed till we find a third person...

Would love to find more...but we all know current problems with that, no point in going over them again.

I even tried to make an Entertainer on Bria and found even the invites are now AFK'd...."Please stand in the corner for invite to Ent group."

/sigh

Far be it from me to point this out, but these people are are working 40 hours a week, bustin there humps to earn some game time. Puttin up with bosses and customers in ussually jobs they hate...just so they can pay 15 bucks a month so their PC can play.

Until my PC find some loophole in my taxes or downloads about 15 million into my bank account....it would never get that kinda treatment in my house.

Hell, sometimes it's lucky I don't pitch it out the window.

Oh, I gave credit to the movie.....not just you...LoL. Though, I did mention your name in the title.

"Cantina Crawl: CCXXII by Javier"

If they wanted....they could DL it and see what I was talking about.

Some did. Some didn't.

As for being one of those who picked up this fight....well...I was a U.S. Marine. I hate to loose and I love my wife. She wants fun, I give her fun, and to be completely honest here...never really done the social thing before in an MMO. I always did the 'kick yer butt' thing'. This is like being a n00b after years of playing MMO's for me. Scary, exciting, funny....I fall lots...feel stupid sometimes too. LoL. I get a good laugh out of it though.

Glad you decided to give the SWG "social game" a try, and happy to hear that you're having fun with it. If more people would give dancer or musician an honest try instead of just throwing up their hands and declaring it a "boring" or "worthless" profession, perhaps we'd be in a better position now. We're still hoping that the devs will be fixing the things that are wrong before too much longer though.

P.S. (waves hand) These are the hawtpants you're looking for. You want to wear them often...
