Breath in....
and out....

We have for most of us been here as part of the Entertainer Community for a very long time. Both here in the forums and among our servers. And for a very long time we have had a great, strong, you got my back I got yours, bond.

And now things are changing and I see a few to many posts that seem just a bit too angry at what someone percives someone else is doing or thinking. We need our community now more then ever. So we all need to take a few steps back and just let go of what ever it is before we go ripping into another member of our community.(feel free to rip into the bot support and related posts all you want)

Just basing things off the public posts there are a lot of people being very pessamistic about things, just as their are a lot of people being very hopeful about things. And based off the public document both sides are pushing a whole lot of assumptions.

So I would like all of us to read this wonderful post by our Musician corr...

" We're like one degree away from a flamewar between dancers, over speculation.

Can I ask that ya'll to open your minds a little bit to the idea that your interpretation might not be the right interpretation, and you shouldn't be treating it as fact and belittling people who have interpreted things a different way? The fact is, whether behind a CU NDA or not, we don't know what exactly is planned for us (I can say this, because even in the corr forum, we don't know what exactly is planned for us, even if I have some ideas - nothing is certain yet).

I think optimism is great, and will be very helpful in terms of being in the right frame of mind to give feedback when it's needed; but those of you who are optimistic, please recognize that those who don't feel the same way might honestly not feel the same way - I don't think anyone is being a drama queen and creating panic for their own amusement.

I think pessimism is understandable, due to our longstanding issue of not having a clear role defined for us by the devs and the fact that the information pertaining to entertainers in the CU has been unclear; once again, however, don't look down on others because they see things less bleakly. If you have concerns, talk about them - they're being collected and whoever ends up as correspondent will join me in presenting them to the devs. But please remember that things are still unclear, and whatever final outlook you see when feeling down and out about the profession isn't fact.

Finally, I want to clear some things up about the language having been used so far, just to point out for sure that things are unclear, not decidedly positive or negative.

The profession trees for Entertainers, Musicians, Dancers and Image Designers will be affected by the Combat Upgrade, and will likely need some profession tweaking because of the changes with wounds, stat migration and buffs to the mind. We will make adjustments to entertainers by creating some long lasting, minor buffs for combat professions.

Nowhere in here does Blair say that the buffs created for entertainers will be mind buffs. It could be a health buff, an action buff, a mind buff, a regen buff, a defensive buff, an offensive buff, an xp buff, etc. It does say "We will..." which means we can take reassurance that there will be some kind of buff for us - however, nowhere does it say it will be a mind buff; it is unclear what this buff will be.

Battle Fatigue is still part of combat.

Nowhere does Thunderheart say that entertainers will be at all involved in battle fatigue. It's a reasonable likelihood that we will continue to be the ones who heal battle fatigue, but do recognize that it is unclear, and thus the need for clarification about battle fatigue is a valid concern.

I understand that emotion and energy is running high right now, but let's try and not belittle each other over things we're not certain about, please?

Everything will be clear soon enough, and then there will be plenty of time for I told you so's.

I'm not having the best of days in RLso I'll probably just keep rather quiet today, but I do agree with you. Thanks.

Thank you Oh-Orb!!!

I 100% agree.

The post with our main concerns is a sticky, so if any of the Devs passing by wishes to comment, they wont have a problem finding where.

But no amount of bickering and "my interpretations of the CU statements is right because I'm better then you" kind of posts will make any difference and will only make us look like arguing fishermen's wives.

It's understandable we all are worried, but we aren't the only once. The crafters are worried, combatants are worried and I'm willing to bet even Devs are worried, because if CU is a flop theyare SoL.

Constructive debate is one thing, but flame war is bad and I would hate to see us stoop that low only because we are worried about the future.

And I'd just like to point out that shortly after the CU Update post happened, and immediately after TH made the above statement, I posted a question which stated "Will Entertainers still be healing Battle Fatigue?"

This, of course, went unanswered.

I have decided to become completely detached from this CU junk for now. I'm tired of playing the waiting game, I'm tired of being frustrated due to complete indifference on any Dev's part to our concerns (how hard would it have been to clarify the stupid healing BF question, I mean come on Thunderheart give me a break), and I'm tired of being ignored.

So, if they ignore me, I'm ignoring them.
