Looping a Macro

The command is:
/ui action toolbarSlot##
where ## is from 00 to 23, for corresponding hotkeys from the bar. The first one is 00, last on first row is 11, first on second row (if you have one) is 12, and last on that row is 23. I'm sure you can figure out the rest.
This command pushes that button. You can even have it push itself. This allows you to loop your own macro using only the in-game features.
My sampling macro reads thus:
/kneel
/sample
/pause 3000
/sit
/pause 3000
/ui action toolbarSlot00
That's it. I'll pause during the sample, and regen during the break.
If you want to stop the loop, just change your hotkey bar to a blank one, or delete the key (it will still be in your abilities menu, of course, only delete it from the toolbar). Once the next cylcle is finished, you will hear a null button sound to indicate the loop is done. Or just log off and back on, which works for stopping any /macro or /alias command.
Alright, I'm just reposting this. I don't macro anymore myself. My opinion: If you must do this kinda stuff AFK, then please go to a backroom/out of the way and do it.
So the simpliest way to macro is to create 2 macros, first one: /flourish 1;/pause 20;/ui action toolbarSlot00;
Second one:
/stand;/pause 10;/startdance basic;/pause 300;/stopdance;/sit;/pause 100;/ui action toolbarSlot01;
And then put these 2 macros in the fist 2 slots of your current toolbar, then start both macros. Goodnight.
Hmmm..
FYI - I am seriously considering kicking grp members who are constantly AFK when I am leader. Sure we all need to go afk once in a while, I have no problem with that. But when some avatar is just bopping there for hours and hours with afk floating over their head it is dull. They provide no entertainment to the group or the customers. That sort of AFK grinding is well, simply boring and missing the point. Bring something to the group besides the xp bonus, are we not worth talking to? If that is so, then bye bye grouping..
Heh. I so wish they would take the ability to do this sort of thing out of the game.
At any rate though. Rizzi, I agree with you 100%. The group of people who I normally practice with in Keren regularly boots people for being AFK - if they do it consistently, as you mention. Heck, someone came into the cantina the other night, placed themselves front and center, asked for an invite, began to play, and was AFK within 2 minutes afterward.
I absolutely think it is a decision of the rest of the group. When we kick anyone, it's discussed by all members of the group, and if there's someone uncomfortable with it, we try to explain why it's done, or don't do it.
Of course, in our case, we tend to kick undie dancers who won't respond to jokes, requests, and offeres of clothing, too. =P
Saving people time and money on training is the only thing to being an entertainer? Wow I'm overdoing it then!

I tried to loop the macro as is stated here and it seemed to work, but I still get booted in about 10 minutes of AFK. Dunno how others are getting around it, but I sure can't.

Interesting, Eljer.. if you're AFK macroing in the group, how is it you're training them?
There is a vast difference between using macros, and AFK macros that repeat to run overnight, etc... So saying "guess that isn't enough" doesn't contribute much to the discussion- those of us who are at the keyboard do the same thing.
Well talking about maccro, sure i think it's cool, but well, if some real entertainers are there talking jokes having fun, then it's really boring to have maccroed fake entertainers around ... I see nothing bad with them being grouped, but it's kind of not fun having npc around with us. I like it very much when there is a live band doing interesting entertaining job ^ ^
Maybe they should maccroed in a corner where they will annoy nobody.
It's often hard to have all character well organised in space, not intersecting each other, and npc and afk make this even harder.
I hate those npc talking very much too. At least macroed people don't talk rubish.
