Thread: For the Next Issues List: Hotkeys Amnesia

This one affects all players, not just Dancers. I am a Brawler as well as a Master Dancer, and I can safely say that I have NEVER had this problem with my bank of combat hotkeys -- on the other hand, every time I log in, the very same four dance hotkeys have to be reset before I can dance.

There seems to be a problem in SWG with persistence. It never remembers which chat channels we subscribe to - in fact, it tends to forget THAT every time we disband from a group. And it also has a selective memory when it comes to hotkeys.

None of the 4 problem keys are macros -- ironically, my macro keys are fine. I drag and drop my Spotlight, Dazzle, Exotic2 and Exotic4 keys to my bar every single time I log in because they've gone missing.

If they can figure out a fix for this, it will probably fix other things in the game as well, and as I said it's not a Dancer-specific problem but it is a problem nonetheless.

This might not be the same problem you are having but I'll mention it just in case. When I got the first dance tech effects, I placed the hotkeys in slots that previously had other commands there without first removing them. whenever I would log in, those new keys would be flashing and non-functional. I finally cleared those slots by right clicking and selecting 'remove' and then putting the lighting effects back in. The game has remembered them just fine ever since. So, I would suggest emptying those hotkey slots first. Hopefully that'll fix it

I've had this same issue, and yes, what Velvet says does seem to fix it. Its a game bug in general, and as annoying as some of these game wide bugs are, its really not my place to turn them in for issues. I'm here to deal with dancer specific problems and issues to help our profession out. A bug like this is more then likely already well known by the devs and will get fixed on its own. Sometimes it can be tempting to turn in a game type bug as an Issue but I just try to remember that those issues are game wide and I'm here to focus on dancers. I hope you understand my position here. Best I can really do is hope those types of things get fixed on their own and work on fixing dancers in the mean time.

Thanks as always for the imput tho, any ideas are great to hear even if its not something I can get to. As always I'd like to encourage people to always post thoughts and ideas they have, never know when you might come up with something really good that hasn't been thought of already so don't be shy.

Velvet, thanks for the great tip - I can't wait to try it and do away with this annoyance

And Ravenmist, I understand perfectly. While, as a many-time beta tester of other games & software, I've always had the philosophy about squeaky wheels and grease, I also understand that if we don't focus our requests we dilute our chances of getting action.
