While searching for an hour tonight for a musician and dancer to buff my mind.. and having not only a hard time finding someone that knows about this.. but one that can do it.. .... hehe and remembering the days not to long ago that i would give these out myself..

there needs to be a easier way .. as stated in your list of things that needs to be improved...

well here is my suggestion toADD to the current way buffs are done and also make it more viable of an income source..

What if a master artisan makes a device... lets call this device a recorder.. then a dancer and musician .. can then use this recorder to .. well record their performance.. then they can sell these recordings.. which would be in form of a data disk.. user double clicks gets buff..

now not to cheapen the art.. the act of recording would still take the normal time it would normally take.. and flourishes and stage art would improve the quality .. so those that take pride in their art can make a superior "singles"..

this would give musicians and dancers another viable source of income as well.. and having my starts as a dancer.. i know those that truely do it for roleplay .. it can be tough to come by dough ..

i dont know but I and a few entertainer guilds i still hang out with . love this idea...

and if someone else suggested this.. koodos to you ..

This has, in fact, been suggested many times before. The debate has always been whether or not this turns entertainers into just another crafting class, since a lot of people would much rather just buy healing and buffing "holo recordings" off the bazaar than have to visit a cantina and watch a live musician or dancer.

I believe this would have some serious detriments. Novices would be shut out, unable to get even the small amount of ent healing they do now, because people would only buy the holo recordings of masters. The cantinas, already half dead since all the entertainers are AFK, would become completely dead, since fewer entertainers would go there (they'd be in their houses making holo-recordings) and far fewer customers would go there (why deal with all the lag? Why worry about finding an entertainer on a far off world? Just go stock up on recordings off the bazaar.)

I'm not saying I dislike the concept of the idea or that it's a bad idea. In fact, I think it's a very good idea. But it does change what type of profession we are, it changes the cantina scene, and then the question becomes does the good outweigh the not-so-good? Does it change us into something we were never supposed to be?

so you make it that u have to record in a cantina.. and it isnt to heal BF or mind wounds its a buff only .. tool.. which the lower ones created by non masters could be sold for less..in my mind it would add more to the role play .. people can open recording studios in their cities..

and your right.,. the cantinas are almost pointless now with 95% afk.. your not crafting here.. your performing...

Hehe Imaka, seems I wasn't online

I like the idea, but it should always be worth more to watch a dancer/musician live. Maybe a master entertainer can record the dance/music of another dancer/musician in the same time it would take them to get buffed. The this can be sold. That would lead to something that is time-consuming tocreate and needs a team of skilled people and won't flood the bazaar anytime soon, but still something that you can have in reserve in case you don't find anyone online once in a while.

If it were buff only, I could see the advantages and like it a lot better. I like the concept of recordings, if they don't completely turn us into crafters. Chefs might not like it, though.

yeah the idea would soley be for buffing.. and it would not effect the chefs food at all.. i can stack chef food on entertainer buffs now..

and yes i think that if it takes 10 minutes for a complete.. max buff live then it should at least take that long if not a little longer to make a recording..

dont think it would be that hard to implement.. i d love to see swg greatest hits coming to a store near you ...

just think of the added roleplay .. you actually can make bands.. and produce albums..

Oh no, I agree with you that it should not comflict with chef buffs since they stack, but we had some chefs crying foul when our existing buffs were enhanced...that they are the 'buffing class', etc, and we weren't even able to sell buffs on a vendor like they were. I imagine a change like this would turn a few heads, that's all.

Do people still want mind buffs? Im a master dancer, but have 2 accounts. Since all the hologrinding has been going on, Ive been playing my other character more. Yesterday, I was in the mood to dance and hit all my favorite cantinas. I had the hardest time trying to GIVE my buffs away. Any one else have this kind of response?

well if anyone doesnt know that value of mind buffs from entertainers they are foolish .. i personally pay more for mind buff than i do for all other stats to be buffed...

I think that the main issue that you are facing.. is many people still dont know that dancers/musicians can even do this..

heck there are still master dancers and musicians (non hologrinders) that dont know they can do this..
