Once those children hit age 40 without seeing any action, maybe they'll realize they're treating women incorrectly.

I'm sorry you went through that. I'm sorry it ruined the game to an extent that you dropped dancer. I hope you find more fun in your new profession.

Thank you for the kind works. I guess it was a bad string of luck, but I plan to come back the profession at some point down the road. I didn't post for sympathy really, it was more to just tell my tale and commend you all for the ability to put up with it. I guess it just isn't in me to deal with those people. I did /report the people that were the biggest offenders, but to my knowledge nothing came of doing that. I denied service and /ignored as well, but as many have said before, they will just watch someone else. It really is no big deal to them.

Hehe I plan not to dance again until I come back, but I did notice when I used a weapon skill and checked my skill tree again the dancing exp was gone. I am hoping that perhaps it was just for the tree I was looking at but if not, I don't mind working my way up again. I had fun doing it once meeting the great people I did meet, it is worth doing it again if need be.

You really can't let 13 year olds get you down

But.... at least make tham get a little too.

Tell their PA leader, I've found all 13 year olds belong to PA's, they have to, the game is too hard for them on their own.

Tell a few reasonably famous players of the opposing faction. Let them duel with no DB's, oops! sorryI DBed you, I was trying to heal. (after incapping 2x, of course)

Use ignore, works great.

Really I'm not sure how big a problem foul comments are here, I've been a girl in the game almost from the beginning and have not had any problems.

Do not let them affect your game. Little children need the feedback. If you ignore them completely they will move on.

And your dance xp is gone already. When you train in any dance skill your xp will reset to the 1.5x cap on the current skill level.

You will get the first 2 boxes but no more, sadly.

/hug /comfort that really sucks, I probably would have done the same thing if all that happened to me at once...Dancing requires a thick skin, but I don't think anyone should put up with that kind of disgusting treatment. People that make those kinds of comments need to be /reported and fed to the sarlacc.

*big smooshy hugs*

That's awful and no one should have to put up with stupidity like that. I hope that when you pick the skill back up you find the joy you once knew with it

The above suggestions are great:

#1 report them to their pa leader
#2 csr ticket/report
#3 ignore list (altho I believe this resets when you log off)
#4 /note write yourself a note as to who to ignore
#5 friends list entry with comments such as jerk-no buffs, put on ignore immediately(altho my comments and guild affiliation poof every two days) *sighs*
#6 word of mouth...post their names in your post next time so we all know who to deny service to.

*hugs*

I just wanted to post a quick message of thanks to all of the dancers out there. I have been reading this forum for a long time. I am quiet by nature so I haven't posted often, but reading and learning from all of you here has been great. I thank you all !

After 3 months of working on mastering the dancing profession I finally made master last week. I tried my best not to afk dance, except for a snack search and bio break,on my way. Which you would guess since it took me 3 months. However it has saddened me that I became so disgusted and outraged this week I surrendured all of my dancing skills.

I had 3 things happen to me this week. First I was offering buffs to some locals and was performing my best for them. I finished buffing the last person in their group of military types when they proceeded to call me names. They ranged from SL*T to C*** to words that I just can't repeat. I asked why I was being subjected to this and they said I was usless anyways so they needed not show me any respect. They did not tip me, they only turned and ran off. I was mortified. I logged shortly after, pretty depressed about trying to help people only to have my name insulted in /say for all near to see. (Mind you I was not dressed in a exotic fasion, in fact I had a dress robe on which covers all but your ankles. I also do not flirt with my customers, I consider myself a healing class as a doctor or medic and my personal ethics as a married women keeps my performances on a professional level.)

The next night I logged on to have nearly the exact same thing happen to me. So I decided enough of this cantina. I had been for about a month one of the few steady entertainers in this remote location and served the public nightly with dancing and conversation. I figured it would be their loss.

Having heard so many tales of adventure, I thought I would pick up a weapon and have a go of creating my own adventure. During my adventure I came across 2 very very injured souls at a camp. I decided to stop and offer my services to heal them and allow them to get back to their action. Idanced for them and healed them up quickly. When they were healed Itold them to stay safe as I was about to leave. They proceed to tell me that their wounds were still there but not where I thought they were. I at this point wasn't sure what they were talking about. However I was swiftly told that a BL*WJ*B was in order to treat them of their wounds. Itold them I was sure their wounds were plenty bad down there and that maybe they should look after each other (both boy characters, I reserver the rigth to call them men if they acted likeit) I rode off on my speeder so upset with my character.

I never ask for tips as an entertainer, I always figured that if people appreciated what I did, they would tip. If they didn't, I wouldn't stoop so low as to beg. I have always been taken care ofby my regular customers and have been sought aftereven though one dancerispretty much the same as the other. (in given abilities, not technique)

It was in that moment of complete anger and humiliation that I surrendered all of my skills as a dancer. I could not put up with the name calling andconstant string of insults any longer. So I am here to tip my hat to you dancers out there that go through this. I commend you for your ability and patients with those dispicable players. I do regret my haste in surrendering my skills, but I will not miss the abusive behavior from otherplayers.

I will continue to read this forum, because I loved being an entertainer and I am pulling for all of you to get the changes and fixes to the profession.I am moving on to acombat class, which is good, so I can see and learn more about thegalaxy, which I have been longing for. Thank you all again for your great advice through the months. It is very much appreciated.

/comfort Dredlya. We've all had that type, dear; albeit just because we have, doesn't make it right. I feel bad that this experience was so awful that you surrendered all your hard work. All I have to say is do NOT dance another step, because if you do, all your extra dance and ent. healing XP will go poof, and it will be much more difficult to get back to where you were. I really don't know what to say other than I am so sorry that you have such jerks on your server. The best thing to do in situations like that is to do a /report <name>, and follow it up with a CSR ticket. You have a RIGHT to have a hassle-free game experience. Don't be afraid to use the tools that are given to you. Also, a good E-Mail to their PA's chief can do wonders.

I am so sorry to hear that. One of my people on the permanent denyservice list is one of these. I'm in the same boat as you. I do not act slutty, and I don't beg for tips and all- but I refuse to be walked on. This is why I DO have a deny service list.

WE are NOT servial to the combat classes. We do NOT have a requirement to preform for them. Thus we do not have to take any of this shtuff. ::sage nod.::

I don't think I would have dropped. And I am sorry that these dirtbags had to treat yu like that to make themselves feel better.... but perhaps getting master CH.... a BE Kimigola and master dancer is a way to go. "Sic 'em godzilla" hehehe.

The only way I can think of to get back at people like this is to sit down. And make sure every other dancer knows how these guys treat you. Sometimes shotgun justice is a way to go with children as well. It works in prisons where they have the MINDS of children. Punish them all , and then the cellmates stop the issue before it starts so that they don't get punished again.

/hugs I am so sorry.

If they are on Ahazi, PM me their names. I don't want to reward such disgusting behavior.

was this on Eclipse that this happened? I play Eclipse. Well I play a male Wookiee there. That sucks that you surrendered all of your skills because of some kids. I have a Master Dancer on Wanderhome and I just ignore the kiddies or hit them with a few /licks or something. Typically, ok 100% of the time, they call me a freak and leave. Oh well. I'm a freak. Anyways, I try not to let stuff like that bother me and if they do start in on the insults just do what I do /addignore (player name). It works everytime. You will see them stand there and realize that you aren't listening and go off on thier way.

I typically just ignore them.

Sucks to see you leave like that. Also if these "kids" see you again and you are high up in a combat class, duel them and whip thier ass. Then rub in that they were beat by a master dancer..lol. Well that is if you got the badge (you should have it) unless you deleted your character.

I'm curious, can't the CSR's do something about other people harassing other people?

I'm not here to steal your show or take away your breathing room but let me say I'm pissed that people would say such things!!!The Lack of respect for entertainers was brought upon use ourselves. One of the factors that started off was the "tipping" idea...Why are asking for or not expecting "T I P S"??? In my honest opinion, if we charge for our services, we would be more respected. How difficult is it to ask something along the lines of payment upfront? Why don't we deserve to get paid x amount for a x amount of time??? Since when did entertainment become a "tipping" industry??? I could just imagine it now as I dream about the time in highschool when I went to see the Pauley shore movie "Jury Duty" and walked out disgusted and ripped off. Thats the way I feel about what happened and what this profession has done to itself. If anyone ever disrespected me like that I WOULD PRINT THEIR **edit** NAMES ON THIS FORUM AND ADD THEIR **edit** NAMES/SERVER TO MY IGNORE LIST...heck, i would go as far as to write down their names on a pad and if i ever saw them hurt i would /DENY their wounde a-sses of any healing!! Let them pay their dues and go to a freaking hologrinding afk'er for all I care.hmm...im gonna start a list of bad/disrespectful characters...I say again, I'm sorry their hurt your feelings and disrespected you, next time take their names down and their freaking guild name ANd post it up here, that way we know who they are and what guild their from.

Wow. That is the rudest thing I have ever heard happening to a dancer. I've had the occasional hit on but nothing so slanderous and degrading! It is very unfortunate that the profession had to suffer the loss of a very professional and great dancer (by your attitude, I can tell this is so!) because of some kids (or very immature adults) decided it was cool and funny to say such things to you.

Whatever path you choose to follow, I wish you the best of luck.

Keep that great attitude and don't put up with anyone's crap!

Wow, Metis_Onea sent me this link and I find it rather disturbing that anyone had to go through that. I'm not an entertainer anymore, but when I had novice musician about the worst thing I had said to me was that I was wasting my money if all I did was entertain.

I think you should stick around what ever server you're on, and if it gets really bad- try switching servers. Come on over to Kauri and I'm sure we can find a nice place for you to do your thing.

btw, respect for you went about +10 when you said you didn't flirt with customers or where the nothing-clothes. I thought that was very classy.
