I'm SOOO UPSET!!!!! Thats right! You read it here correctly! I PUT SOME SERIOUS EFFORT INTO MY PRACTICE; Tons of flourishes, lights and smoke. I PUT ON A SHOW. BUT If I don't get paid before hand, I simply won't dance. I don't care. I worked too hard to get here and I'll be Da mn if I don't get paid. I could care less if there's some underling who wants to grind what have you all. I get tells telling me to come to the cantina to dance but I reply: "pay me first! $2000 minimum for 3 minutes of dance. If a customer wants mind buffs then itll cost $7000.If you can afford to go to Dantooine or some out of way place, you can afford me.Butthe greatest thing of all is when your in a group and before the group goes out to battlethey come out of nowhere and say "buff our minds before we go... FOR FREE." "GET THE F'in OUT OF MY FACE" I TELL THEM. If you don't want to pay it then goto yourguild's dancer then. I encourage all Master Dancers to unite and enforce someminimum. Not to relate this profession to strip clubs but thats whats it comes down too to get paid then so be it.And more importantly, i'm not talkingabout T I P S...that bull, I WANT PAYMENT ADVANCED otherwise find another dancer who'll do it for free. Don't get taken advantage of. Now that I going to have my cantina, Igoing to havea friend who set up a vendor for me andcreate some items called the"Dancer's Edge" 3-minute dancers card. If you want me to dance in my Cantina, you got to buy the card and trade me the card. Its that simple...NO CARD NO DANCE!

I hope it helps. I have gotten good tips overall by telling people to pay what they wish, and by dancing in places like Dantooine's taverns, where hunters are flush with cash and low on mind. For every freebie buff I give I often get a 10k from the next person (which I consider generous). I am sorry you have been beset by ingrates. I have been lucky, I guess.

I went to Dath the other day with the sole purpose of seeing if there was any live entertainment. The only entertainers there were myself and my guild leader who was working on music experiance for Master Entertainer. Both of us were ATK during the four hours or so I was there, and I charged a minimum of 3K for every mind buff. People were happy to pay it, as there were no other Master Dancers around offering to Mind Buff people. I had repeat customers during that time, and still made decent tips from those who were just healing.

One of my guildmates is trying to convince me that I should go to some of these outer world planets and charge 10K for a mind buff. He's convinced that I could get it easy, and well, I know how well those missions pay out when people are out there. I know they can afford that. My big hold out on constantly charging people for stuff.... at least for the mind buffs... I have no way to tell how long it's going to work.. and I don't want to charge people more than that 3K if I'm not sure it's a full buff. As it is, I ask them to just sit there and wait while I dance... and I keep my eyes on my watch for 10 min.

But I think it's great that you're demanding payment for your service. Docs can do it. So can we. And it's not like a strip club. It's like going to see a Dance show, like a ballet or tap group. You pay for those tickets first. Assuring that the dancers are reimbursed for their hard work. (Not to mention they normally get paid to learn the shows as well...)

What you should do is join a city, on like Dantooine and have the city hire you for a set fee per hour

all the cantinas in the new cities need dancer coverage 24/7 so you could get diffrent "gigs" at multiple cities

I do not usualy tell people how much to tip- like Sultrina I make good money. But- I was recently asked for a buff and I put a minimum of 5k on it. It felt a little bad because I never ask for more than 2 k (if someone asks- if they don't I say nothing and tend to get tipped well) But I was headed out of town. So to turn around would be a hassle for me. Anyway, he said it was pricy and I did mention that there were a ton of othe rpeople in the cantina he could ask. (Bear in mind, I was NOT trying to be malicious. I DID know most were AFK, but I also knew there was a master musician who was also a master dancer who was actually there- he was giving a buff at the moment but he was ATK.)

The respons was that they were all AFK and not responding. I told him about the master musician. (But I thought "Gee... supply and demand buddy." I just didn't say it. )

In this case I really didn't feel bad anymore because I should be paid what the buff is worth- at that point, it was worth the 5k. Because he just HAD to have it. (He got ahold of the musician. So I didn't leave him abandoned) Just like an ID should be paid to change anything on someone. These our our services and we are not servants.

I find I get paid more if I stay quiet- but if someone starts treating me like I am there to cater to their needs, then the prices start to rise ^-^

Whenever someone asks me how much for a mind buff, I tell them I don't charge and they can tip whatever they wish. If pressed, I will usually say 1000 or 1500, since that's about what master doctors charge for buffing the other stats.

Most people, when given the choice to make on their own, tip from 2000 to 5000. It is very surprising to me how often people tip me 10k for a mind buff, it happens a lot!

I did get frustrated with my old guild. One or two members in particular would say "Come to XYZ and hunt with us, you'll get some great xp!" As soon as I got to their camp, they would always expect me to mind buff everyone in the group. They never tipped. The money issue didn't bother me as much as the obvious ulterior motive every time they asked me to hunt.

My solution ended up being joining a different guild.

I usually don't name prices, I say "donations." I've gotten a minimum of 5k usually. One time I got 3k....but he ALSO buffed my action stats(all of them). Mind you, AFTER the buff was applied. He kept me healed the entire time, tipped me, then buffed me in return. That's worth a good deal right there. The most I've been paid was about 13k or so. I just left the cantina and dealt with Theed's laggyness all the way to the starport when someone sent me a /tell.I was aboutto head off-planet.I told him I'd just left and hated dealing with the lag, he asked what if he offered me 13k for the buff, and I was like .... I'll be right there. ^__^

I don't know how many time i've been in a cantina and asked for a buff and not gotten one. It seem like getting any entertainer to buff u is like pulling teeth. I have even said name your price. So u can understand why people don't exactly love entertainers or the need for them in the game. They expect everything for nothing. heal me wah wah. Why don't u get a doc buff, drink buff or pick up medic and heal your own lazy self.

my price is 10k = 1k per minute for my master dancers buff. I don't know your situation but those who probably confronted you were those who wanted to grind away. You can buy my "dancer-edge" card that entitiles you to your buff.

While I think the tone of your post is a bit stringent, I agree with you in theory. The entertainers spamming "heal me, heal me" drive me insane. It is not hard to find a master doctor buffing outside the cantina, in the med center, or near the starport, and either pay them 2k to buff your quickness/stamina, or trade them a mind buff for their buff. Alternatively, drinks and food can be your best friend. I always have a crate of Tatooine Sunburn on me. I drink one occasionally and have no problem doing regular flourishes (of course, this requires you to actually be at the keyboard, though some enterprising macroer could set themselves up a bar of Sunburns to drink in order). And I think you can even buy Tat Sunburn from the bartender, for a very cheap cost, so having a crate is not even necessary. Or, as you say, pick up medic yourself (I did) and pause to heal yourself from time to time.

What drives me battier than batty is the hologrinding idiot who dances in COMPOSITE ARMOR and then begs to be healed. Get a clue, please!

oh my goodness, thats the worst thing i have ever heard of. $2000 for three minutes? why dont you find another profession if you want to get rich? i dance because i like to, for free, and i am still really well off. what does a dancer need money for anyway? clothes? a buffevery now and then? you cant tell me you NEVER get tips. people sometimes give me huge tips just for not being AFK. but anyway, its your desicion about whether or not you want to charge.

((It might help if you say what kind of buff you want. A lot of people come into the cantina looking for a *doctor* to buff them. *shrug* And if you want our buffs, and are looking for them, then you do understand part of what we can offer; no need to say things like that.

Really, though, be specific in saying what you are looking for. It will also help if you mention how much you are willing to tip when you first ask for the buff. If the person is doing a dance routine, or playing an instrument, it might not be worth it to them to interrupt their routine or make the band sound less good for 10 minutes for the small amounts entertainers are sometimes tipped, and how will they know if you don't say?

Another thing to try is to look for dancers and musicians that actually enjoy the profession, and become a repeat customer. Most entertainers that actually want to entertain love fans, and look forward to dealing with people they know are respectful to them and will pay them for their time with credits and/or socialization.

If you are already doing these things, and still having no luck... Bleah, I am sorry, and I hope it gets better for you.))
