Thread: Entertainment Healing XP question
I've only ever noticed it if I was lagging, and it seemed to be a catch-up type thing.
I could be wrong though.
Ok, I have searched this forum back & forth and cannot find anything about this question.. It's probably a stupid question..
Does anyone know what causes a HUGE spike in the entertainment healing xp? I'm grouped with 19 other entertainers, getting normal entertainment healing xp, and sometimes, all of a sudden, I will get a huge spike for like 4500 entertainment healing xp....??? I can't figure out how this is! It's very welcome, but I don't know how to get it back. It is not a mind diseased person, or someone with a black bar for their mind, because that only gives like maybe 500 xp every 10 seconds or so.. anyone have any idea where the spike comes from?
I really must be doing something wrong....500 eh xp every 10 seconds?
I get giddy if I see my eh xp going up for more than 100! Even 60 or 70 has me bouncing in my chair! And that's WITH a group of 19 other ppl!
What's the secret to getting eh xp? Aside from mind diseases, because even those dont give our group THAT much xp!
Thanks!
Highest I've ever seen is 138 a click, with a medium size group, and 6-7 people taking disease.
So yeah, not that it matters now, but I'm curious about the 500 a click thing too. 6-30 is more characteristic from what I've seen.
Normally I perform in small groups and people I perform for (my guild mates, mostly) are rarely very wounded, so normal amounts for me are in the teens to high 20s.
500? I haven't seen that since my early Moenia days, back when you could fine huge troupes of entertiners nearing the size cap in every cantina on Naboo, and people were coming in with 3 bars full of black rot every few minutes.
I haven't seen that in many months...

Tiaga has already tested and confirmed that we get the same TOTAL xp, in the end, for a given amount of BF/Mind wounds, regardless of how fast you heal it. So if I have 100 BF and you get 2 xp per BF (which I think is roughly the case), then you will get 200 total XP from me. Whether you are a near-master dancer and get it in one blip from your uber-leet-healing skillz, or a novice and get 2 per tick for 100 ticks, you'll get the same total (200) in either case.
Since that's true, huge lumps of XP can only occur in one of two ways. Either (1) lag has prevented reporting and the client is playing catch-up, or (2) a large number of people are being healed by the group. Since it is unlikely that the number of people will change substantially without an obvious visual cue (e.g. 10 people all walk in at once and start the clap animation that indicates watching/listening), a sudden unexpected spike is most likely due to (1), lag (since you would notice the 10 people and not be surprised by a sudden spike).
The good (or bad, depending on perspective) news is that regardless of level, lag, or anything else, when a person walks in and starts to watch you, assuming he watches you to full heal level, there is a pre-determined amount of XP you can gain from fully healing him. A fixed amount.
So, I'd say don't worry about the reporting oddities. It has no effect on the final amount of XP you end up getting.
It is fun to see those sudden bursts though. Heheh.
