Well, in response to this I decided to do a little research. I checked the log here on the forums.
Entertainers= Entertainers, Musicians, and Dancers
The cold hard fact:
The Dev's have not responded to one post in the Entertainer, Dancer or Musician Profession Forums since 11-03-2003 06:51 PM
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=musician&message.id=5451#M5451
I had to go to the 87 page of the Dev Tracker to find onedeveloper responsein one of the Entertainer Profession Forums. (Disclaimer: Iread through the response log, so I may have missed an earlier post.)People have made the statement that not one developer plays an Entertainer as their main. Perhaps they developers feel that since they don't play our profession,a response to our complaints would be inadaquate. Perhaps they don't even read these boards. Every other profession had more response and more recent responses. Why are we overlooked?
Dev's if you do in fact read these boards, feel free to prove my above statementwrong. Lack of a response only adds to the validity of the above statement.

My take on this whole thing is as follows. We know that a few months ago, the upper management of the dev team changed. Holo moved on to other things, a few other shufflings happened, and new people came in to be the "guiding force."
Before that change, entertainment was at least given lip service to having things done for it, and some actual changes were implemented, e.g. mind buffing.
Since the management change, entertainers have been roundly ignored.
My conclusion from these facts is that the "new management" either do not understand what the old guys were trying to acheive with entertainment, or they view it the way most of the player base does -- useless and not worth doing anything about. This may be a real opinion (i.e. they really think it is a stupid set of professions), or it may simply be "caving in" (i.e. they think the professions are neat but realize that most players don't and that it is therefore impractical to waste their time on it).
Either way, my sense of things (being privy to absolutely zero inside information on this) is that the new leadership guys are the ones responsible for us being mostly ignored since, as you point out, late October.

It is also quite telling that there were two specific posts on November 3rd, both by TH, one on Dancer, one on Musician (dancer was a bit earlier so it was a page up from the one you found). Both posts were on the "State of the profession" threads -- as near as I can tell TH posted on every one of those, so clearly we were just done as part of that process. In the Dancer one, TH basically says, "Thanks for compiling that great list, Ravenmist." No comment on the content of the list -- probably because he was rushing to post on 32 other lists. In the musician one you cite, he says even less, essentially, "Great to see all the musicians like you, NewJedi."
There is no indication he actually read the initial post or subsequent comments. Which means you have to dig back even further than that (I did not bother to do this) to find a Developer response of any real substance on one of our forums.
I did not look for the exact date when the whole "new management" thing happened, but I know it is roughly around the time Holo stopped posting and let TH take over (this was part of the transition, it seems). Holo's posting largely stopped in early-mid October. TH took over. By November 3 we were being ignored. Around that time new management took over.
It all fits. New management do not regard entertainment with the same level of importance that the old guard did. So we are stuck until either (1) management changes again, and the new new management would then have to be of the "old" opinion, or (2) current management ("new" relative to Holo) changes its mind.
Neither of these is likely to happen any time soon, if at all. Which concurs with Pickles' point on his "decisions" thread that he sees no change forthcoming. It also explains why NewJedi and Ravenmist's regular pokes of the developers have been largely ignored as well.

Does anyone know if any of the developers play an entertainer as their main?
If so, which dev?
Also, Does anyone know if any other professions have had a lack of dev responses in the past and if so, what have they done to increase the amount? For that matter has any profession been sucessful at getting the devs attention and how did they do it? I am afraid that since ents lack the quanitive voice of the SWG consumers that other professions have, we will not be heard anytime in the near future.

((I didn't want to clutter the other thread with this. I would feel better about the developer response if they had actually answered our first five and then asked for more, instead of asking for 10 now. They are just putting us back to the drawing board, and our answers are going to take even longer now. Why can't they answer the first 5 right now? *sigh*))
