Thread: An idea for Entertainer Professions. Sorry if it's been said...
((These happen sometimes when people invite us to parties and gigs. They can be a lot of fun! You mean having people register parties with a entertainer terminal, and hire people that way? Hmmm... That might be interesting, but most people who have gigs (that I have been to) invite specific performers they know and like.
Don't apologize for having ideas, though! ^_^))

Hmmm. Ok lemmie think here...
How's this. It's kinda rough, but I am shooting from the hip. Entertainer Professions missions terminals. These are for PC cities only but these terminals are in NPC cities only.
Say a city is looking for an Entertainer for their cantina. The register with the Entertainer Profession terminals. Only mayors of said PC city can register and make "wanted" ads so to speak.
The mayor can give a description of the gig, and give a difficulty rating. Difficulty rating would be based on how many Entertainers the mayor requests. And the mayor must set a time limit in accordance to the difficulty rating, for which there is a minimum/maximum time that the mayor can set.
When the time limit is filled, said Entertainer is automatically paid (a pay system that has a min/max in accordance to the difficulty rating). In order to finish posting this mission, the mayr must post the time limit and payment then the mission becomes active. (of course the description would have a word filter of course to filter out nonsense and vulgar crap).
I dunno. Guess I am just rambling now ![]()
My idea as previously posted:
2) enhance the mission system (not just for entertainers) to allow player missions. The system I envision is similar to the current Email system integrated with the mission postings. Upon selecting a planetary mission terminal, a radial selection becomes available to choose player missions/computer defined missions. After choosing player mission, a create mission can be activated from the selection screen. There should be a variable cost for creating a mission and a 125(more or less) character buffer to enter a short description of the event, a small text box for the coordinates, a rewards box, and a time limit (incremement 1-10 then multiples of 10 min) to achieve the award.

Ok, i'll shut up then
Blah, why you at least presented an idea instead of just spewing verbage at everyone. I think your idea is a little off-track but it is definately not a bad one.

What exactly does someone spout? Do entertainer profressions get hollered at b*tched at like all other professions too?
Of all professions, save for DE, I have the most respect for most people that play an Entertainer Profession. Some of the best people are dancers or musicians.
(the idea was an attempt to throw a little non-combat content ideas out there)
It wasn't a dig on the entertainer community as much as the forum posting community as a whole. Many people love to tell devs or players what is wrong with everything in the world but present nothing positive in return (such as ideas to recitfy the situation)
