Thread: in the middle of nowhere
I totally understand your reason behind wanting dancers to go out to other places, but many only want to grind, besides anytime my friends and i are out there, there isnt a single person that isnt rude as hell.

Anyway, flame if you want, and gripe about afkers if you will, but you have some power to overcome this obstacle and save your profession. The only reason entertainers exist is to heal the mind. Since that's your only true purpose, start capitalizing on it. Help out the noobs in the small towns, and role play a little. Have some fun.
I'm sorry, what? I live on a "death world", dant... and I dance there in the OPs whenever I pass through (which is often) and no one else is entertaining (which is rare). Any cantina I am in the vicinity of always gets a visit from me and has since I made novice dancer. Most of the cantinas are dead, and I don't mean just the lack of other ents, but I mean _no one_ comes in... and yes, I always register. I have worn my highest ent/dancer title since my first week playing back in October. Even when I had combat skills, I always left the mish to go dance for someone who had pulled my name in a search.
Dancers will not magicaly appear just because you ran into a cantina for 5 secs and wanted one. Get the names of some entertainers you like and start trying to hire them for hunts. If there is not an Ent showing up on the planet you are on, do a search as soon as you hit the next planet and try to hire someone to go back with you.
I am hired for Dath, Dant, and Talus regularly. I think that anyone that does an Ent class as their main class is at least open to doing this for normal customers... and believe me, we are fully aware that our only content is healing and socialising. Some of us want more content, some of us are satisfied with only this, but _all_ of us know that is the main purpose of the class. If you are not willing to form any kind of relationship with your local ents, then I don't really think you have any right to say that they aren't helping you enough.
I love my client base and I take care of them, I also am constantly on the prowl for new patrons because they do provide both my income in the game and my major source of fun.
Here's a few tips on keeping your hired for hunting Ent happy:
- Don't let them die or take ag if they don't have any combat skills (ask them, some want to fight)
- Don't let anyone in the group say "I can heal myself with my Ent/TKA/foods"... it's an insult
- Don't expect them to put up their own campsunless that was agreed upon at hiring
- Don't make fun of them for performing at every camp, it's why they are there
- Do share this list with your groupmates and always be polite
These aren't hard and honestly, most of my patrons know these things on their own. Every cantina won't have an Ent the way things are right now, I hope that changes soon too. Until then, get used to hiring. ![]()
Ub007 tricked me! This is a dead thread! *sigh* I really should start paying attention to little details like dates... of course then I might have to actually check spelling and other annoying little things... and I'm just not sure I'm ready for that kind of level of commitment.
First of all, AFK 's didn't cuase you to do anything. If you loved the profesion you wouldn't have droped it. So don't blame them if you couldn't hang. People stay in big cities with big group becuase thay gain exp faster. I am a master dancer so exp doesn't matter to me at all now. I will try to make it a point to dance in cities that aren't very popular for all butt kicking, killing machines. LOL. Maybe it will save some people some travel time.

Aw! *hugs*

This is not a dead thread if people like you are going to post interesting messages in it.
One of my favorite "middle of nowhere" spots to dance is the imperial base west of Mos Espa on Tattoine (coordinates -5278 2706). It has two buildings to dance in, interesting decor.
Very quiet, usually not many PCs out there (on Chilastra anyway).
Pretty little spot, nice oasis. If you go, take your fishing tackle.
