Heard on _Queer Eye For the Straight Guy_ the other night:

"My mother says only children and whores wear red shoes..."

LOL, my first thought was of the red shoes ingame! Do they still force those upon newbie dancers?? Luckily I started as a scout and so I danced my way through poverty without those suckers.

Nothing against red shoes IRL, just some humorous irony I wanted to point out.

hahaha I love the Fab 5!!!!!! and I was fortunate to have friendswhen I started playingwho said destroy your clothes and this is how you trade and wear these = ) I wore that Newb outfit for as long as it took me to run from my starting point to the cantina.....now days if I run across a Newb who is not begging or acting shameless and still wearing the clothes and has NOT stripped to there underwear, I will give them some cash to buy new clothes.....

Not too many noobs on anymore, but if they're atk and not in underpants, I'll make something. If the girl likes red, I may make her a red dress that actually goes with the shoes.

Well, I always wondered why they saddled us with the funky red shoes - I know I wasn't alone in thinking that they looked terribly out of place against the backdrop of the neutrally coloured"tribal furs trou"and skinny tee...

Hmmm...makes one wonder just how familiar the devs were with that particular axiom...

Maybe we should hold ademonstration - a Red Shoe Revolt! - to protest the Sony-endorsed alignment of our chosen profession to that of the world's oldest.

I love red shoes (as long as they go with the outfit). Actually one can never have too many shoes! I wouldn't mind a few different styles as well. I wonder if any Devs will notice the subtle hint implied? I started as a medic so I never had the entertainers oufit, what "style" shoesare they.

They're the ladies dress slippers - think Dorothy and her little rubypumps.Back in the day when I first started playing, they were about the only bright red article of clothing that one could have, so they accessorised with just about nothing. (grins) I'm not sure if that was because the bright red was simplyunavailable to tailors of any rank orbecause there just weren'tany master tailors around on the shiny new server.

I think it's a case of either loving them or hating them. I grant you, the red shoeshave their place in my wardrobe now that I've got plenty of garments in the true red but I'm afraid my starter pair languished on the bazaar at a cut-rate price before finally disappearing into electronic oblivion. There were a LOT of red dress slippers going for a songback thenas I recall...Had I only boughtred slipper shares in those crazy days...(sighs)

Just because it's Friday and just because I'm a frivolous time-waster, I'd be curious to find out roughly how many pro and anti-ruby dancers were out there - AND how many of those dancersactually started out as entertainers. I'm going out on a limbhere but, if my hypothesis is sound, Iimagine that the lion's share ofthe antis willbe those whostarted out clad in the tribal furs and ruby-reds.

(ducks and awaits an angry barrage of pro-rubys)

MYydad had a pair of red Reobk when I was little... I remember the neighbor (who was really nice and a lot of fun) Telling him "You think you can walk into my town wearing them red shoes?!" They always teased him. But I think that's why Dad liked the guy hehehe. ....Boy were they red....

Iwill alwayscarry my red shoes to remind me of myfirst days in the Coronet cantina. They keep me humble.

Of course, now I have fabulous ballgowns that coordinate with the red-- not like my first real outfit, a light pink shortsleeved jacket and matching boy-cut hotpants! A fellow dancer/tailor made it for me because she felt sorry for me. I made sure to buy some pink boots as sure as I could afford to, hehe.

Well, I might add, after spending one horrible day in beta in noob entertainer clothes... before someone took pity on me... when I decided to become an image designer/tailor I made sure to start as an artisan, not an entertainer, just for the clothing.
