OMG... I am totally confused.

I am in a large group in the Theed Cantina on Naboo. The group average is from 10-20 people at a time. There are musicians and dancers, all of various levels. I am a Master Dancer. I have a macro that is for a buff dance that will double the amount of their blue bar. Now I will should for anyone to send me a tell with a request for a buff dance.

I make sure they are watching me the whole time and myself watching them the whole time as well. Apart from the annoying bug with macros and typing stuff to other people, I monitor the time and tell them when 10 minutes are up. They then have their blue bar at double the capacity. They are not in my group.

From what I have been reading here it seems you can also buff people in your group.. Or you could say join a group of players and dance, have only one of them concentrated on and the whole group gets the buff.. but what buff.

I have hear of passive buffs here and active buffs? Which are which?

I am sooooooo confused. And maybe you all have written it and everyone else gets it. But me being the blonde that I am (I am a true blonde so I have a license to say that) I just don't get how all this works. Can someone please explain it to me like you would a third grader?

And thank you sooooo much for the info and taking the time to answer.. I really appreciate it

((Read the top sticky post, if you haven't already. It has a lot of good information in it. ^_^

The active buff is the one where the person isn't in your group and you use /setperform. The passive buff is the one where you are grouped with the people you are buffing. You don't have to use setperform at all to do a passive buff; they just need to watch you, then /stopwatch when they are ready for it to take effect. The passive buff (group buff) is the same strength as your active buff (setperform buff) - for you as a master, 100%. The difference is that the passive buff takes longer to apply to get it to last a full 2 hours. I haven't done research on the times lately, so check that first sticky for more details.

I hope that helps a little? Just remember, setperform is the active buff, and the group buff is the passive one.))

I am going to reword it to make sure I do understand.

I have 10 people in group. 1 person out of group. (a total of 11 people).

Those in group are watching me and will get the passive buff. (this is the only buff they get from me? and they will get the buff that will make their blue bar go up? Also I do *NOT* have to type anything but just dance for them to get this?)

Right, but only if you are grouped with those 10 people. You have to be in the group. The buff they will get will be the same as the one you give using /setperform, they will just have to watch longer to get it to last. You only have to dance. Each person that wants the buff will have to watch you to start it, and each person will have to /stopwatch to get it to take effect.

The person outside the group is watching me. I have typed /setperfrom and they are going to get the active buff. (this will make them have a buff that will affect their blue bar. Will itbe double since I am a master Dancer?

Right! A master gets a 100% buff, doubling what they have.

If those in group are watching me after I have typed a /setperform dance on a person outside the group, will they still get a buff as well?

Right! As long as they are in the group and watching, they will be being buffed. You can /setperform someone, and the people grouped with you will still be building their buff.

Will everyone watching me either with typing /setprefrom or not will have their battle fatigue healed?

Healing and buffing are completely different, so you don't need to confuse the two. Doing buffs doesn't change how you normally heal wounds and fatigue at all.

I also read something earler about setting keys in the hotbar to set up change of clothing without having to change everything.. I am running my style as in eq style.. not sure how to do this with that set up. I also was wondering if there is not an ini file that could be updated that way so everything is already in place when you log in?

I am not a macro wiz, but some people have posted really good guides at this. Search around a little, and I think you will find one. You might try the game guides section.

I have also found out there is no way to stop a flourish while it is in motion. Does anyone know of anyways to do this?

I normally just finish the move before I stop. You might see if just walking will break the animation. I'm not sure?

Thanks again for your help
