Theed Cantina becoming more live-ly?
Incidents of shouting and begging for personal care within the Theed Public Cantinahave been on the decline, shows a recent report released by the Naboo Free Press Association early Monday.
According to the report, scans showed an averagedMacro Index of 46.12 for the past week of cantina entertainment activity, with a low reading of 12.86 reported on Monday - a dramatic reduction from the averaged MI scan readingsof 98.47 reported during each of the weeksfor the previous half-year.
"The Monday readings were the lowest we've seen in a very long time," said Mezreth Zentth, spokesman for the special Noise Pollution division of the Naboo Royal Security Forces. "It lookslike the entertainers arebeginning topolice themselves, and NP-RSFappreciates the help." The department ofNoise Pollutionwithin the RSFis charged with monitoring disturbances in spatial noise throughout Naboo, and recommending corrective actions.
According to witnesses, the largestentertainment act present for the bulk of the day Monday required that performers be attentive at all times. Those that were not were removed from the troupe/band, and new promising hopefuls in the entertainment professions took their place.
"We haven't issued any new exclusive contracts regarding the cantina entertainment for the Theed venue, but there has been an occasionalshift in the style of shows," said Itlien,a representative of Carrelon Public Houses, the management corporationwhich operates theTheed public cantina. "The largest act we've had in there in the last few days were much more active withand attentiveto the customer base than inprevious months. It's like the previous entertainment wasn't really even there," Itlien continued, "The regularcustomers have commented on the pleasant change from the last few days."
"I hadn't been around in a long time, stationed in the Outer-Rim, y'know, and finally got some leave to Theed," said one cantina patron. "There was this Mon Cal guy over there in the corner telling a dancer that he was thanking the Maker that she was 'real'! I thought the guy had reallylost it, until someone told me about the zombies that had been around here."
"It's just nice that I can come in and take a load off, and actually hear myself think for a change," said another customer. "There was even a good setup with these three Twi'lek cuties dancing away together, and a couple of wookiees dressed up like chefs playing the tunes on either side of them. Took my mind right off the war."
"I'm just so sick of hearing the begging. Then I go up and ask them beggars how long they've been working, and they don't evenrespond. Glad there aren't so many of them this week," added another patron.
"We'll continue to monitor the noise scan readings, and will release the findings through the usual official channels," Zentthof the RSFsaid. "Our department is hopeful that this reduction in noise is a trend indicating a permanent change, but it is far too early to be conclusive."
