) entertaining i have done.. and i have been master dancer for about 8 months now 
) and Celestial Storm (kudos to Corum and all his gang), that constantly rotate members in and out of the starport dancing group. Hehe you will be surprised at how many people join the bandwagon once you start something like this LOL even had someone go train novice entertainer just so he could shake his coconuts with us! By that simple statement I know we are worlds apart.

No, you can't. No entertainer healing, no buffing, no game mechanics at all. But you see... that's why I really know that the entertainer professions are not just about our game mechanics, and that a lot of other players... not all, but a lot... enjoy entertainers simplyas entertainers.
I started doing starport shows after performing with famousFATWOOKIE at a couple... he and the FFWB had been doing this for a really long time. These were really successful - everyone had a great time with them, so later on I started bringing some LIVE Entertainment people out from time to time to doourownas well.
The premise isn't for healing, or buffing... but entertaining. You see, no one likes the 10 minute "time sinks" that starport waits are. Everyone stands around bored looking for some way to occupy the time. Some duel for fun, out of sheer boredom. But when a hoppin' band shows up with a dance troupe, and does a show there solely to help others pass that shuttle wait time? A lot of people love that we take the time to come out and try to make even the legendary starport time sink something fun.
And yes. We often get tips at these shows. Some really nice ones, too.
No healing, no buffing. But a lot of people love that we can give them some interactive content. Some of the greatest appreciation for entertainers as entertainers, not game mechanic healers, comes from these shows. And that to me is a lot of fun... doing a great show and hearing the applause, as it were. It's what an entertainer craves... the cheer of the crowd.
Whenever I get to a Starport to travel, I dance. Period. Usually by myself. I just do because I love doing it.
The reaction I get from people is great. They don't want to just sit there waiting. I lmost immediately start seeing people start clapping. I end up talking up a storm with people and, when the shuttle arrives, have many times heard the "Darn, the shuttle's here already" remark, meaning I've done my job well.
I then bow, thank them for being a great audience, and poof to my destination
I was standing about 30m from the ticket droid, and I had people leavingthe little attention-whoreto come have some fun.

I think thisis what cantinas were origionally meant to be like.. but better!
