Thread: New entertainer quests?

Hiya, it's possible I'm being utterly dense here but can someone point me towards any official doccumentation about the new entertainer quests coming in?
Everyone says that they are coming in with publish 9 but when I read the publish 9 notes it doesn't mention them anywhere. So is there any official statements about them anywhere or is it all reports from players on TC?

Unfortunately the devs slipped them in having told the correspondants they weren't ready to test. However some players tried them anyway and there have been patch notes giving fixes to them (they were still bugged when TC1 went down), so no official announcements but there are reports from TC players around (me included)
In summary the quests (so far):
Talk to a Theatre Manager (found backstage in any NPC theatre - under guild halls on the planet map)
He/She will give you 30 seconds to get on stage, where 3 'pop idol' judges will spawn and give you instructions to impress them, or fall asleep if you are slow. (Hint below if you fail)
Once done you are told to advertise yourself - you need 10 people to listen to you so you reach 'Popularity Rank One'.
Then it's back to the TM for your first gig - impress the audience with your performance and you'll be paid (1k if I remember) and get told to do more advertising - 20 people this time.
Currently this is where it's bugged, when it wasn't the second performance was much harder than the first.
I'll be testing again once I get home if TC is online (came online this morning) and will be updating threads if bugs have changed.
These quests should be good fun but so far they are still an early stage - given this is far better content than the current missions hopefully it is a stepping stone to the Hutt's casino?

Hint as promised : you need to use /changemusic or /changedance when asked to play a different song/dance or you fail the audition. Evidence suggests changing songs impresses an audience as well.

Sounds better but still not great. Do we get anyhing for our time other than a measly Cr1000?

Err, 500cr for the audition - forgot that.
Also you get to achieve 'Popularity Ranks' - of course no one but you knows you have them (but there is a bug currently telling the person who listens to you that you achieved the rank - you don't get the message!)
Other than that, nothing so far. But remember that if you did jabba's quests you would only have a stone knife and a few creds by this point. We'll see if new stuff comes soon. Just hope there'll be enough people on test centre to get the higher popularity ranks before it goes live.

So far, from what I've followed in the threads about the entertainer quests, I'm not impressed. Unless there is a reasonable payout or prizefor the time and effort I doubt I'll even try them.
Once again, the devs give us what THEY want for us - not what we want. Makes me wonder why none of them are entertainers if they are so determined to make us into their own ideal.

I'm glad to hear that they have been added to the TC to be tested and then pushed out in Publish 9. Not very promising in regards to what I know this community is looking for, but it is something. The fact that it even got added to the publish as the Devs work ever so hard to make sure the precious Jedi have everything handed to them on a silver platter... wow! And hey, I didn't know that a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, they had anything similar to American Idol! What are the odds?

Having just had a go on TC I'm sorry to report that we are back to an old bug on the quests, but the devs fixed it once so hopefully they can do it again. (system messages to start the performances have stopped again, although the Theatre manager now thinks you have started)
I'll let you know if they get past it.

Yes, back to the third quest not triggering. Apparantly it worked for a brief window of opportunity, which I personally missed. So, back to stuck at phase 3.

Well, I saw on the news today that a new TC server has been created: TC-Bria. Bria has been copied over, so I may just try out these new quests myself and try to help out by bugging them
Anyone know of a good resource to explain how to get onto a Test server??

How do you do the current entertainer quests? is there really any point to them? the payout isnt great and i dont need the xp but it would give me something to do when im bored ^_^

The entertainer quests aren't a part of publish 9 exactly. They are a mini-publish after publish 9, kind of like the ID mini-publish. They call it 9.2. The state of the game letter holds the current schedule of future publishes, including mini-publishes, though it has been known to change.
They may seem rather simple or silly, but I have a feeling they will tie into the Hutt Casino when it finally comes out. (No, I don't know anything you don't, just a feeling I have based on timing.)
