Yes I do.
I also know the difference between "no" and "know", plus I can spell the word you.
Which answer in particulair? They had several ways that players and Immortals interacted depending on the "phase" the mud was in.
What amazes me (having never played a massive on line multi-player game before (aka mud), before playing SWG) is how this article written eight (8) years ago seems to be so accurate!

I think this boils down to the fact that there are just some fundamental principles of how groups of game-players and game-admins interact, and whether it's a for-pay MMORPG or a free MUD, these things happen.
However, the guy running the MUD and other "admins" of the MUD have an excuse for screwing up that the SOE devs do not have: they are volunteers and they are doing it for free... and the players do not pay for the service. I used to point out when I was a player and people moaned about other MUSHes I was on, that it's hard to justify *too* much complaining about a free service run by volunteers out of the goodness of their hearts. On the other hand when you are paying a monthly fee for a service, you have a bit more of a call to expect some service in return for your monthly subscription (service) fee.

I'd add that unlike a free mud, we happen to be CUSTOMERS first andplayers second.

I've run a mush for a number of years as well, and that article is spot on. One thing we don't have in our volunteer world which SoE should is oversight to prevent this from happening. Someone who is always examining the proposed solutions to problems, suggesting other solutions that don't take away from players and thus cause turmoil.Or,examining whether the issue under examination is actually a problem in the first place! But most of all, someone has to be the doorkeeper that constantly asks the question, "Yeah, but is this fun?"
