Hey I dont know if this has been asked or not, but if I place a cantina and for what ever reason i need to drop MD (like to get combat for the FS skill tree) will i lose my cantina too?

No, you won't lose it. If you ever re-deed it, you'll be unable to place it again, and you can only transfer ownership to a master dancer, musician or chef.

you also I beleive have to declare residency in the town to place it (at least i had to? even though i had zoning permissions)

you shouldn't have to... residency and zoning are separate things.

No, I don't think so. All I needed to place mine was the zoning rights. I didn't have any other structures (and thus no residency) in town when I placed it. I chose to declare residency there to to add to the town population, but I didn't need to.

And since the cantinas take up 5 lots, and the theater takes up 3 lots, those lots come out of the total number of lots assigned to a player, correct?
