Meet up with some of the other live dancers on your server (is your dancer on Ahazi?). You'll find that we are a pretty friendly group and Masters are often more than happy to group with someone who's just training up. Due to the amount of afk-ness and that those who remain afk seem to prefer doing it in the NPCcantinas, many masters prefer to hang elsewhere these days. Check the Intergalactic Dancer Directory in the FAQ stickied here for names of other dancers on your server. Dancing ATK with others, you'll learn a lot of the tricks of the trade and performance enhancements that really make dancing fun. They'll also be able to tell you what the entertainer channel on Ahazi is these days. When you find out, please post it back here on the forum so I can add it to the list.

Our xp is based on two things;the level of the dance we are performing (use your highest dance for best xp) and being grouped with other dancers.Since healing xp was changed to entertainer xp (which is based on our flourishes rather than providing healing or enhancement to someone else), we are no longer dependent on others to gain xp.Nor are we dependent upon cantinas, you can dance anywhere and gain the same amount of xp as you would in a cantina.

How long will it take you? I just mastered dancer (for the 10th time) on a new character and it took me 2 weeks and1 dayof dancing about 3 hours a night. A lot of that time was spent using lower than my highest dance and with others calling /bandflourishes (which syncs the group's flourishes) for which only the dancer calling them gets the xp (something I want to see changed). Our xp gain was significantly increased lately and this was definitely the shortest period it has ever taken me to master.

Also, try to have an inspiration buff to boost the xp gain, the profession specific buff if you can get one.

Is your character strictly an entertainer or do you do other things as well? If so, you can get the dance xp any where so take advantage of any down times (waiting for group members to get missions from the terminal or when someone goes afk, etc..) to kick up your heels a bit.

My suggestion is "don't grind." There isn't (or shouldn't be) a rush. No, think about it. If you are enjoying the profession, why rush to the end? And if you aren't enjoying the profession, why do it at all?

Instead of grinding, play your game. Do what is fun for you. Dance where you want, when you want, for whom you want. Ignore the XP ticker. When the game tells you that you got a box, go train it. Otherwise, play your game and enjoy the class, and don't worry about racing to the end.

That's my advice. And it comes from someone who took a full year to master dancer.

Grinding Tips:

1. Open the package and smell the bouque of the beans

2. Always use a hand grinder, while the person you are serving the coffee too won't know the difference, you will! You should have as much enjoyment in each cup served to them as they have drinking the cup.

3. Don't over fill the grinder

4. You don't have to have an extra fine powder a few turns of the handle is enough

5. Always grind fresh for each pot, fresh ground the night before isn't really fresh ground

The above is ok advice if you are grinding coffee. If you are grinding dancer stop at once! The idea of the game is to have fun! If you are grinding (repeating a task over and over that is unpleast simply to obtain a goal at the end) STOP! Then go to another profession.

If you are dancing and want to know how to advance as a dancer quickest- then just as other people have already said, dance in a group and ensure you have been inspired to get that extra %. BUT, most importantly HAVE FUN!

Good Luck!

I would set a macro and let it run all day for like everyday in a week. I mastered Ent and Dancer in about a week doing this. I only recommend this if you only want the badge
