I am bothered by the fact that people would knowingly go to buff bots pay a fee etc to players that are saying we aren't here to play the game.

My favorite part?

"I will have very little free time to play the game over the next several months, so making credits through an afk buff bot sounds appealing. ... Since I won't be playing the game, I don't mind leaving the afk bot running 24/7."

All I really have to say right now, though, is hold on... we're close to the end.. We've come this far, we can hold out the rest of the way.

Oh...my favorite part was having the maid check on the buffbot

ROFL...what is this game coming to?

I sense a new trend. Not only will people spend lots of money every month to have alt accounts...entertainer bot, doctor bot, chef bot, grenade bot...but, they'll also be hiring maids to check on all the bots while they're at work.

Hahaha...seriously folks, why are they even *playing* this game? They should honestly just hire someone to play the game for them, and then log on once a week or so for an hour of PvP. I mean, really...I would take that job. Probably would be better than the one I have now.

They should give anyone who is still around a 3 month credit on their account . . . .

Well goodness! I say lets all just log in and walk away! Sounds fun! We'll crowd into the cantina's, set 3 second spamming macros and go have lunch together somewhere while the servers overload!!! *faints*

The maid is going to check on it.............*sigh*

I love the idea of starting a company where we charge money to look in on your afk while you're out, but I would end up being AT KEY anyway.....so it would ruin the whole concept! ROFL

I don't know how ppl play afk for hours on end. I'm always too worried that I'll miss something good! LOL

That is the whole point, they aren't playing and didn't intend to. The account simply funds the account they play with, I mean after all why have your real account make its own game funds? I can't believe there are posts like that on the SOE forums and they don't really see the issue. Heck do devs log into this game? Do they even have a real clue how bad it looks to a new player to have half the characters you run into not be there?

The problem with that is when they came home after I finished, they'd suddenly find their uperl33t PvP character had manifested basic Entertainer skills and been playing *gasp* LIVE in a cantina all day.

The hysterical part of all this, to me at least, is that in every other game I've ever played, you COULD afk macro....but it was a banable offense! So people did do it, but they were rarely far from the keys just in case that GM showed up to check and see if anyone was "home".

SOE not making this a banable offense is the FIRST mistake. We really can't lay all the blame on the people who afk. It isn't listed as ano no anywhere in the rules. AND they make it pretty darn easy to make a looping macro, so if they are going to give people the tools....we can't blame them for using them.

All we can do is continue to complain and someday something will happen. The combats seem to get attention when they complain about things, so maybe them getting aggrivated with the unatended spawn campers will bring some much needed attention to this pesky problem
