Ok, I've been gone for a bit cause I had school, and I finally finished all my term papers and everything last night, I figure... jump in game, lets see this new CU. The one that will let me be Master Dancer, Master Entertainer, Master Musician and Master ID

I was really excited cause I've always wanted to do ID.

So I get in, and it tells me to respec.. umm.. ok... it doesn't let me respec anything cause I'm PURE entertainer!

So then I started finding out stuff about the new buff stuff, and things

Come to find out: My Arcarram is useless now, spent a whole lot of money on that..

The money I spent on ALL my mind enhancement skill tapes- useless

the weapons I had to one make me look cool, and t wo keep my balance and the ones I had from when I was Master Swordsman, including a 2 MILLION dollar Scythe... Can't use!! at all!

Then going to my house on tattooine, I get my blue butt handed to me by a dwarf nuna!

Needless to say, right now I'm not all that thrilled with the CU

Well, first of all, welcome back. Yes it is a very different game these days.

Glad you found something to excite you, a lot of ents are going the quadruple mastery route. Everyone gets that respec thing, even non-combatants, just click never and make it go away. There is a lot of useful info on Inspiration Buffs in the stickied threads in this and the Musician forums, so I won't go into those.

Accarragm, yeah, it is pretty useless now, but there are new chef foods that you might wanna try. I haven't tried them, only heard about em, so I can't right off tell you what they are. As for money spent on tapes and such, its a game-wdie dilemma and, unfortunately, not much can be done about it. Just be glad it was game money and not real money and remember that you are not alone in the cash spent masses.

As for weapons for balance, well, they took out falling, you're golden!

As for weapons for aesthetics, this is a known problem many of us have taken beef with. Since we can't use em, we can't equip em. Have faith in and support the entertainer, musician, and dancer correspodents, they are working on this, but they are also working on other stuff for us at the same time.

You may want to consider moving into a player city for your safety as far as your house is concerned. If you don't want to, that's cool, I understand. Just know that unless its gray on the con, which most stuff is not at our levels, if it is a red dot, you must avoid it. Avoidance is the name of the game right now, that or a really fast swoop to zoom right past.

Don't get down, things are being fixed and changed daily. Enjoy entertaining for the sake of entertaining, enjoy being with fellow ents, and remember why you came to SWG in the first place: to have fun. Just keep a level and clear head and watch out for the red dots and you should be ok.

Welcome back!

I'd also recommend against hitting anything that doesn't hit you first. If you *do* want to try the combat end of things, find a nice set of stuff that's lower level than you and practice on them. Err on the side of caution and stick close to the major cities while you're relearning the system. Try to find stuff that comes one at a time, because you can still die if you're swarmed.

The major cantinas have become much nicer since the CU. The spammy buffbots and most of the idiots with the 'tipme/healme' macros are gone. We don't need buffs or heals to dance forever. Our mind buff has been replaced with a 10% Inspiration buff. This buff is passive, so there's no commands involved from our end. There has been talk of adding better buffs for masters and people who can interact with their customers (read: atk performers), but that's coming later.

Entertainer mission terminals are paying 1000 - 1200 credits per mission, so it's a *little* better to use them now.

Although the mind enhancement skill tapes are useless now, it's been said that an active buff of some sort is something the devs are looking into (yeah I know how that sounds). But those skill tapes will be worth something then. It's just a matter of being able to stick it out.

The accarragm might help in combat so you might be able to sell it (if I remember it's new stats it helps with regen time) or trade it for something that will be useful to you... like a health increasing food.

I feel your pain about the weapons. One of my multimillion dollar rifles converted to much lower damage stats (no I'm not pleased about that)

The vulnerability issue is a big one, especially if you live on a planet with fairly aggressive animals that can pull you off a speeder or thugs who can shoot you off your speeder. Depending upon load times for the scenery you might not even see red on your radar in time to avoid these things.

Believe me there's a lot I'm unhappy with about the CU. But I think the best course of action is to keep voicing your top issues and reporting bugs. I don't think the development teams deliberately set out to ruin anything. I do get the impression that there's not a lot of systems engineering being done on this game however. (that's not uncommon but it sure is frustrating) With luck they'll be able to address these issues fairly quicklyand take some of the frustration out of what should be relaxing, fun time.

For defense purposes, if you can't avoid trouble try to stay in communication with hybrid entertainers or combat friends who might be able to assist. Consider trying to sell or trade your accarragm to get some foods or drinks that might increase your health stat long enough for you to escape.

Wow! Thanks for all the useful info! I appreciate it.

As for the CU, I know it's frustrating, but I've been playing EQ for 5 years. SOE did something like this once, and then about a year later it was all fixed.

I've read through a lot of stuff about the buffing... Good thing I have a lot of BE clothes that give +25 to music/dance wound healing =D
