Thread: Buffbots Posting...Why, and who cares?

Sorry, it will take a much more mature person than me to let them slip off without any kick in the butt whatsoever. Besides, they didn't give a womp rat's backside about what they were doing to the profession or the play experience of any live entertainer, they most certainly won't care that we are celebrating their departure. They are self-centered gits, and the only reason they are posting to to stir the fires of the anti-CU.

well all i can say is good riddence. they never seemed to want to post here when they were able to AFK ingame but now that they can't do that they feel the need to come here and spoil our fun
The thing that buffbots, buffbot supporters, and even us at times never understood is my thought on the subject of tips and the nature of the thing that was tipped. I caught a lot of criticism for this line in my "Customer in a World of Dedicated Unattended Entertainment" post:
The mechanics given by entertainment do not in and of themselves entail wealth, respect, and admiration. In fact, buffbot owners, I believe in time, will discover quite the opposite is true. Any attempt to justify why one should get wealth, admiration, and respect for merely skill animating will make one hated.
I will say that my guild is very excited about Inspiration buffs. And they aren't running off to some random starport cantina bot on the way to their mission.
Since preparation time for actually DOING something in this game has been drastically reduced, they seem more inclined to say "hey we need an Entertainer" and then wait for me to get there/log in my Entertainer.
Yeah, funny how upset buffbot people get when they're all uppity about what a grand "service" they were providing, and how people "loved" them, but the second their macros were useless, everybody yawned and forgot about them.
Turns out TALKING to people and having fun with them wins out over some lame spam macro. Go figure.
I'm still pissed that people can AFK and provide Inspiration buffs, though. That junk needs to go away. The AFK'ers still give us all a bad name.

Where are the mountain of "I love you [buffbot name]" posts now? Not two days went by without buffbots being relegated to "yesterday's fling."
Yep they woke up and found out that the same people making posts about how they <3 so and so buff bot were replaced by "I LOVE NOT HAVING TO GET BUFFS!!!!". The everyday buff bot on our server instead of playing music or dance is running an AFK macro complaining about the CU. The best part is that all of his fans think he is annoying and put him on ignore. LOL!
Newsflash to buff bot owners: They didn't love you, they loved comvience and freebies.

ROFL I saw him in Coronet too. I about died.
Actually the thing that amuses me more than anything is that there is STILL a buffbot at the Dantooine MO. I have to wonder what hole she's living in.
LOL, I wonder if we will see level bots now.
Aww... come on, they provide a "A valuable and functional service".

Heh...I'm sure there will still be a few here and there. But, the truth is, they aren't needed anymore, so it's really a waste of their time to set up when you can the inspiration bonus anywhere.
I almost feel sorry for these people now. The buffbot owners were greedy and wanted convenience. Somehow that eventually got twisted into providing a valuable service, in their minds. When the reality is that they were only there because they could afk macro and be their 24/7 for others' convenience. And, now, all the fair weather friend buffbot supporters have turned their back on them because they don't need them anymore. It is almost kinda sad.
All the flame wars in the past between entertainers and buffbots, and all the supporters who came out to flame the entertainers. Where are they now? When the bots start complaining in game or on the forums they are ignored...or even worse, they are now on the brunt end of being flamed by the entire community. If they have any higher level thinking skills at all, they will learn from this, and realize that the uselessness they are feeling now? That is EXACTLY what the real entertainers have felt for well over a year.
It really doesn't feel good to be ignored and spit upon now, does it?
