Thread: Dealing with customers who get fresh
Check out this thread it has lots of good ideas in it.

"I am only 12 and my mommy is in the next room,,let me go ask her if its ok for me to do that" ,,is an extremely effective way to avoid any bothersome person, (from the post referred to above)
NJ62,
Avoid to /wink too much and no, not "all" dancer gears are revealing.
Here the equation : /wink + fleshrap ( leotard or hop pants and small top
= possiblilty to expose yourself to the kind of situation you encoutered.
I want to say "young man, how do you know I'm not 13 years old, or a guy?"
he knows because 99,9% of the female characters are played by male.
I am wondering how to do it *tactfully* so that it doesn't ruin the gaming experience
They are many ways...."sorry I dont do this kind of things" or " I keep a safe distance between me and my customers", "sorry, I am married ( ingame ) "... so much option....
Note : I was an entertainer since day one and a master dancer for months
Hey well I am married to a master bounty hunter and first I tell them that and if they keep on thenhe sends them a tell in game. Works wonders, so gals have a few guys who are will to send tells out for you.

I like it when Customers get fresh ![]()
It's usually more entertaining to me than all the pointless small talk that fills the stale cantina air.
Usually 95% of the guys getting fresh do so in a Respectful and playful manner , its all good fun and there's nothing wrong with a little sexuality RP in the game .
Every now and then someone comes along who's obviously quite ignorant or just plain evil lol , but you get to be an expert at dealing with these people real fast ( most important Tip: don't try and beat or go on the defensive with them or even teach them a lesson , Instead step up to them , after all you have nothing to feel small about right ? , this works 100% of the time IMO and they always leave acting like your best friend and remain that way.
example:
customer: Dance b1tch earn yo dolla lol
Dancer ( this is what not to do ) Excuse me ?? ( this is whatsmall d1ckis aiming for andhe can always say just j/k lol geez andhe leave happy thinking he just grew an inchwhile your Steaming. etc etc)
instead remain silent for a bit see what others say , there's ALWAYS a few who love to fight and will probably step in , after all the guy making the comment is only 14 yo maybe 16... I'm sure it will end up in a dule with some other 14 yo who thinks his measuring stick is longer.
Ok In my example remaining silent doesn't work no one else says anything , but was worth a shot
5- 10 seconds later
Customer that's right B1tch shake that money maker like you are ![]()
Dancer ( step up ) I'll dance for you Daddy
Customer woah lol
Dancer Come sit down by my candy I'm guna dance special for you
target /pet
at this point its all downhill ...the only trick being that you target the customer /tt and engage him in private chat , where you'll find he's a little uncomfortable and much more respectful.... ask him a question if your into to shutting him down instant ask him where he's from ...and he will start talking like your best friend...or just play a bit... you can make someone like this very uncomfortable Real easy now ( use your imagination its a piece of cake
or give them a free buff and talk about the weather or if he's doing holocron etc.... what ever your style .... but you'll be happy and all ends well
everytime you see this customer he will be respectful and maybe some fun even.
I've talked to a few other girls IRL before that are nervous about dressing hot while dancing for this exact reason , so if your one of them just follow that example.... I would say though that it makes no difference weather you dress hot or are a fat short little fish .... your always going to get the odd customer that a d1ck .... so just dress and look exactly the way you want.
I love dancing and chatting with people in-game , its all I do , I havent even tried anything else ... IRL I'm a 22 yo university student and just find it So relaxing to come home and log in to the cantina .. I study with SWG in the background , I do wish they would come out with a few more dances and songs though , also more clothing ... it really feels like the entertainment part of the game is NOT important to 99% of the players and gets no attention. ![]()
anyways hope this helps someone.

I have to say, for the most part, I don't get propositioned - except IC, by roleplayers - and not very often at that. Ceyla's kind of a hardass. And if it's done, in-character, by a roleplayer, I handle it thusly, and let them know that I'm not interested. Most serious roleplayers back off.
Plus I generally don't perform anyplace but player cities.
When I do perform in NPC cities, sometimes I do run across hecklers. When I do, I usually try and cut 'em off at the knees. These are some of my favorite comebacks:
/emote frowns at %TT, unable to make out what sounds like a very backwater dialect.
"Wow, what a sophisticated, intelligent statement that was! I bet line of girls who want to "git it on with u" backs up out this door and around the back of the building!" /emote peers past you, looking for all those women who are *dying* to hook up with %TT.
"I'll say this in small words, because I don't want to confuse you. No. No. No. No. No. Am I clear? No? Go away."
"I don't do illiterate. Piss off."
"Sorry, I only date my own species. Bipedal. Opposable thumbs. And able to stammer out a complete and grammatically correct sentence." ((I suppose you could always work in "correctly spelled", as well, if you're not strictly in-character!))
Sometimes, you get someone who is impervious to a clever turn of phrase. That's when "((Congratulations, you just made my ignore list))" is useful. Never failed me yet. And I haven't had to actually put anyone on ignore - I don't have to! They make one more remark, I ignore them, and they believe they're on the list, and give up!
Anyway, I hope this was helpful! And really, if you try it and it works, you'll find that sometimes, it's very satisfying to rip into someone who's behaving like a total ass.

Hehe, that line reminded me of another I had read in a comic strip a while ago. It went something like:
"There aren't enough letters in the word 'no' to express the no-ness of my answer."
Hehe, I've always liked that one. ![]()
I once had a guy emote /backhand me repeatly for singing a song in Theed cantina. He included some very offensive comments about women keeping in their place, blah blah blah.
My response was to equip my favourite sword and use my best Mrs Bobbet impression. ![]()
Sorry, not to make light of being harrassed.
I've spent more time in cantinas in the last three days as I've been working as a Dancer than I have for the last 4 months of playing SWG and it's been educational. Video games like this tend to atrract teen agers and young men (I'm 29, still young right?) and that's a demographic that isn't known for being polite and respectful to women (generally speaking). I've seen people say some pretty rude things to the female dancers and musicians. Here's what I'd suggest you do if a simple "That was rude, stop bothering me" doesn't work: As most of us entertainers are grouped together in large packs. Get on the group chat and muster your forces, have everyone in the group call out the offender. "Hey, she asked you to leave her alone, so leave her alone!" and that sort of thing as long as they make sure they use the offender's name when they do so everyone in the joint knows he's being a jerk. Don't keep it up long, you're looking to apply a little public accountablility here not harrass the offender. If he keeps it up still, report him to the CSRs and add him to /ignore.
