Just an observation - Before the Holo craze I had to fly from the Adventure planets to the Starter planets to find a Dancer to heal my BF and sometimes I had to hop from city to city to find a DOC.

Now this goes from before you could list yourselfs on the map, but When you get upset that there are AFK players...think about who you are whining to...the combat class.

The combat class needs to be healed..they dont care if you are there to make a nice comment or if you ask them for tips...they want to heal and get back in the game. Sure there are some who /clap /cheer and even some who /tip (I do all three)...but most heal and leave without a word to the dancer.

After the Holo Craze I can find a Dancer/Doc almost anywhere and it is so nice to not have to take 20 min or more out of my play time to find a REAL Dancer.

Now before you flame me...I understand that you dont like the masses of people invading your space and that MOST dancers like the role play and enjoy the field..after all its your game too.

That said...give the AFK people an alternative...Start your own Player cantina and ban AFK people..If the player base wants what your offer they will beat down your door.

In a few months the Holo Craze will be gone and if you enjoy your game so much you will still be here. Please remember that PRE-Holo-Craze I had a hard time finding ya on the harder planets.

Yes I am a Holo Dancer and not I dont go afk to dance - I do use a macro - and oh ya nobody talks to me customers or other players so I stay in guild chat and talk to my pals who are out fighting.

PS the groups I am in are live people who train me when I need it..but we all dont talk much..so far maybe I am missing something?

"Are you SURE this horse is dead?"
"Take a deep whiff. It's been dead for a long, long time."
"Can I kick it?"
"Sure, go ahead. Everyone else does."

Actually Javier, I think he proposed a new idea. It would be an interesting experiment. Have all the "At the Keyboard" entertainers suddenly get up and move out of the cantina to location B. Then see where the combatants go. Maybe everyone could leave the AFKers behind and dance in the theatre.

Wait, there are at-keyboard entertainers in the NPC cantinas still?

Sorry, I have to make light of the whole thing because a) I swore I'd no longer participate in AFK debates except to inject humor, and b) if I think about it too much I'll pull all my hair out in frustration.

Now that you mention it...

I was in the Coronet cantina over the weekend long enough to provide a few mental enhancements, and I tried to talk to a few of the entertainers I was performing with... GAH! I don't mind AFK entertaining, but when the entire group is AFK... And there were SO MANY folks in the cantina.

I didn't realize that entertainers just don't dance in the NPC cantinas like they used to.

So where do dancers migrate on Bria?

Beat to death but not fixed...New idea is right...get in a player city...start a cantina and kick afk people out...you are fixed...IF what you provide is so wanted...Players will seek you out.

I have a Toon that is a Dancer on another server and I play it when I am bored..but I can not play it much becuase after a while if pushing buttons it gets dull...even in a combat roll I like talking in guild chat to my friends.

Thanks for your feedback

The point is this forum has about 3 new AFK threads every day. We're innundated with them, overflowing with negativity. Everything you've said, while it may be correct, has been stated over and over and over again. All we do now is argue over this same issue because people keep bringing it up. Further discussion of this topic will solve nothing. That is the very definition of a dead horse.

It's not your fault, you probably don't visit here often, and that's why I tried to put a light and humorous spin on my post.

Hey, I open my purple Twi'lek arms to my fellow dancers. If you are on Ahazi, (and I hate to add- neutral rebel because I sorta think that we dancers should stick together >.< ah well ^-^ ) Redemption on Lok has a cantina that I am shamelessly plugging for ^-^ It's kinda lonely on Lok... and the city dwellers have this death wish and like to go get beat up.

But there are tons of Cantinas out there. Find a new home. We do not have to put up with the AFK people. Let the holocrons have the NPC cantinas. We want to enjoy the game right? We are not required to put up with the AFK! If someone wants a mind buff, let them find us and treat us right. We don't exist to play in servitude ya'know. ::snickers::

I sort of think it'll be a bit of retribution for those people who told us to geta 'real' profession. If the hlocron craze ever dies (which it probably won't.) then they'll see ::manaical laughter::

Besides, I'd rather socialize and joke with the entertainers than get a tip. (by the by... Guilds are not necissarily a bad thing, they take care of their own.... it's quite nice.)

...almost anywhere? When is the last time you saw a lone, AFK dancer in Doaba Gurfeil?
