Now Im no fan of AFKEntertainers I think its just a cheesy way to play the game....but Im starting to see why it's so widespread...you need groups to gain better xp and you need to go where the BF and mind wounds are to get healing xp....but even one AFK macro ent with some annoying spatial chat loop is.....well ANNOYING and if you happen to be at the keys and trying to actualy BE and entertainer that loop of "heal me/tip me" starts to get to you you either have to leave the good spot or leave the keys to keep your sanity........

my solution.......lets have any Entertianer that goes AFK with a macro running open to pvp sans death blow..so those of us who are at the keys can beat the crap out of these AFKers spaming annoying spatial chat and thus geting a wee bit of relief.. i mean if the offending AFKer is incaped they cant spam chat....

Ugh, if only it were possible. These people who put the witty spatial comments in their macros have no consideration for their fellow entertainers, who will have to hear it every 3 minutes for the next 4 hours! Example:

"Hi my name is CluelessTwi'lek InALeotard, welcome to Theed Cantina! Enjoy the show and thank you for healing/tipping us!!" <=== Actual macro (paraphrased), overheard on Starsider server. Names have been changed to protect the retarded.

Don't even get me started on how utterly TACKY and CLASSLESS it is to ask for tips in any form, but especially so in a freaking AFK macro! But really it wouldn't what anyone was saying, it's just annoying as hell to anyone who has to hear it over, and over, and OVER again. This is also true of emotes or any spatial. Jesus you idiots, if you MUST go AFK just leave it out of the macro!

GAAHHH! It just makes me want to scream. It's so tacky, annoying, idiotic, ineffective, rude and obnoxious.

Think how much better you'd feel if you could beat the snot out of the lil twit....lol I was in coronet last night....and the place was a mess, at least one AFKer was spaming his tip request every 30sec and a heal request on the other half min.......that coupled with the utter cluster$%^&@ of ents, healers and poor unfortunate spectatorsI ran out screaming as soon asI got there.

.....and then there is the leader of the 20 person entertainer group who announces in group chat "I'm going AFK now to take nap" and doesnt make anyone who happens to really be there leader.

.....or being leader , having to leave and finding out you are the only person in the group who isnt AFK......disband group.....evil grin

I have seen an even more fiendish innovation of Macrotainers. The sale of their 3-4 second macro spam to crafters and merchants to advertise thier vendors! like this:

/wail "Come to Doc <so and so's> Buffs and stuffs!!! Located at <city> at -4355 5674!!! Have 438 Stims by the Crate!!!! Woundpacks too!!!! Level D buffs of the highest quality!!!! Rez kits!!!! PST for special orders!!!!"

Followed in 3 to4 seconds by:

I don't know about you, but one of the things I like about MMORPGs is that they evolve! I left EQ for a couple years, and it wasn't the same game when I got back. It keeps things interesting. I'd happily suffer a month of not being able to dance because of a bug if it meant I didn't have to suffer from AFK entertainers ever again. Not that I think they'd take that long to fix a widespread bug of that severity.

Actually a simple thing the devs could do would be to disable spacial chat an emotes when you're afk. The macro would do it but if the dancer is afk, no one would hear it. That would be the simplist all around solution to that

I actually got into 2 arguments today over the AFK issue while in game. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not by any means a fan of afk entertaining if you're over in a corner somewhere and you're not spamming. I mean hey, everyone has to get their grind on....I'm okay with that!

Today I was approached by someone that I've seen AFK in the cantina for the last 2 days to train them ent heal, and then to join a group with them.....sorry.....no on both counts. I don't mind you AFKing, but I DO mind you thinking that I somehow owe you help with your skill gains in your quest to follow your holo. pfffft.......

I actually got cursed out!

I told another AFK Holo-grinder today that I would join his group if he paid me 10K for my efforts to gain his skill. I'm sure you know how that one went over
