Thread: Combat the AFK: Make ALL buffs as the current Class-Specific Buffs, even the Basic XP-Buff
You'll get no argument from me. But I don't see it happening. Nor do I see it having much effect on the number of AFKers. Many will AFK simply because they can (those bank tip lists in people's bios prove that people will still pay ridiculous amounts to a bot). Others will do it because they need a profession badge to become FS and they can get ID in a few hours or MD, MM while they sleep or run another account. Then you'll have those who get an elite entertainer profession and then respec to a combat oriented one. And let's not forget those who afk to max their xp and then convert it at the village.
The only way to get rid of AFKers is to stop them from getting xp. No xp = no gain from being AFK. But again I don't see that happening.
I agree with all my heart!
With that said- "Its the policy of SOE toallow AFK play for entertainers." Thesmall concession we got to make buffingcrafters ATK only, is a welcomed change, but IMHO the limit of what they are going to do in light of their polcy toward entertainer AFK.
This all very sad to me as it is regressive. We have lost what we once had. One simple fix that would take care of the "OMG down time" concern= Bring back Battle Fatigue BUT allow entertainers to reduce BF anywhere, anytime. Rather than causing down time that might actually encourage groups to take entertainers with them.

I'd be happy with that. I'm trying to find a down-side, and am failing. (Yes, I am full aware that combat classes wouldcomplain they cannot find a live Ent. Let them deal with it like crafters do. I see people adding me to their friends lists, and finding me, or asking my tailors if I can log my ents in. I assume that if crafters can do it, combatants can.)
A small step, and likely not one that would stop AFK totally. But if it kills 5 AFK ents a server, it is a start.
^ Agreed.
If everything was active so many mechanics problems would be solved. Making the combat buff passive only benefits people who don't want to hang around cantinas and hurts those who do.
