Thread: Entertainer Group Size

Why can't this option be added to the cantinas, npc and player?
What if they just totally eliminate group size limit alltogether? Let people form as huge groups as they want….
BUT if group goes over 8 players no combat related exp is gained by anyone in the group and no loot is dropped from any kill.
Kind of like the way it’s in eq2, in there if the level difference between players is more then what Devs feels is balanced the group still forms but all kills result in no exp gain and no loot.LOL, I didn't want to stretch their apparently limited ability - just use an already ingame system to work in cantinas (kinda like the royal "we" meaning all ent venues but I guess I gotta spell it all out for some).

it would solve entertainer groups inside a cantina, however, what about public performances outside? i think a fix has to take into consideration all venues to be effective. while coding it to work in a cantina would work im sure, and be a step towards the right direction, i think that you have to look at the entire picture and take into consideration all venues, theatres, hotels etc, and then even the outdoors.
Can you place those stages from the promotersin Starports (including the Theed Starport)? While your idea has great merit, better would besome kind of "create band" ability that would allow us to do this without limiting the locations where we could use it. It would also need to be flexible enough to accomodate people joining and leaving after the band is created... and what about Cantina Crawls where the groups move from venue to venue? However, as others have said, anything is better than what we have now.
Perhaps another idea (and one that I have seen mentioned elsewhere) is to "steal" the Raid concept from EQ2... where a Raid consists of two to four Groups.

It's too bad that the uniqueness that was SWG has been lost in the melding of the SWGmechanics with the mechanics of EQ2 but at least the devs understand EQ2 so instituting it should not prove to be an insurmountable problem and may actually not break too many things currently IG.
There are several ways in which SWG is far and away superior to EQ2... for instance:
- SWG Characters move and look a lot more realistic than EQ2 Characters... even with "snappy" movement.
- SWG has Dancers, Musicians and Image Designers... EQ2 at best has Bards.
- I much prefer SWG houses over EQ2 style "appartments."
However, I do recognize that there are a few ways in which EQ2 is better...
- You get xp every time you complete a quest just for DOING the quest.
- Um... I'm sure that there are more things, but I just can't think of them.

Well, only certain races get this option, and since EQ2 has no IDs, you are stuck with the choices you make during character creation and if you want to modify your look, you have to delee and remake your character... ah, there'sa coupleways EQ2 is better:
- You can have ALL of your characters on the same server... and if you have a Station Subscription, you can have 10 characters.
- If you delete your character, you can make a new one with the EXACT SAME name on the same serverimmediately.
