Thread: Entertainer droids..

Do you mean how long does the actual effect run? Or how long does the droid stay running them?
How long the actual effects run .
They're only 3 or 4 seconds each, right? I generally used a pause of 10 or 15 if I wanted alot of effects, 25 to 30 if I wanted some breathing room. Sometimes I'd run foam almost constantly, since everybody knows it's a party when that's blasting out.
Why don't you time them and list your findings? ![]()

I could try it, but I have such a low FPS It would make getting exact times kinda hard
I've never timed the effects, and as an avid DE and an avid Entertainer, I am shamed. I will insert my standard warning that anyone who programs a droid should be kind to their environment and put decent pauses in there. Spamming them can be a hideous source of lag, especially in an already busy cantina.
There was one street performance I was at once, where we intentionally had as many droids running, and entertainers popping effects as we could... it was a load test... yeah that's it! ![]()

I usually set a 30 to 60 second pause on my effects to cut down on lag if I'm in a crowded venue. But if I am in a quiet spot I often reset it to 10 to 20 seconds between effects. Some effects last longer than others.
When I am in a player city cantina, instead of having the droid inside with me, I set it on patrol from the cantina to the shuttleport and back. With effects pauses set at 30 to 60. The droid keeps rolling along, but the effect stays hovering where it fired off. It's funny when someone gets off the shuttle and Dancing Jawas are floating there all alone, the droid having moved along... ![]()
I've never timed how long the battery lasts. At least an hour, but I think they are supposed to last 4 hours.I just run outside for a "smoke break" every hour or so and check the overhead map to see if my droid'sstill patrolling ordead.
