Thread: Little note to AFKers from a Holocron Dancer.
Yeah, I am as guilty as any victim of the boxes for getting a Stamina buff and heading off to work, but I have also spent a GOOD number of hours present and accounted for during the grind and I have a couple points to make for those who AFK fulltime. Being present in a large cantina means you can group and your xp rates go through the roof.I AFK'd my way to Entertainment Healing II (I had enough xp for EHI saved up from when I used to play music) and Dance III by working my guild's player city as a healing bot, but spent that last night I was really hardcore grinding on Corellia in the Coronet Cantina and absolutely raked xp in by being present. I was getting 15 points a flourish off of Footloose alone, and in that group that went right to 45 points. I'll sit my backside in front of the keyboard for a tripling of my xp any day of the week. By increasing the xp by that level, I can also take a break from the grind once in a while and actually play the other professions I have for a few days between grinding nights. Now, to be honest, I will probably continue to Macrotain (I use macros either way, when I am there its easier if I don't have to keep spazzing flourishes and talk at the same time) but for the Entertainment Healing xp grind, you cannot top being at a Cantina in person in a large group. When people would come in from missions, I'd get EH xp hits up in the 70 range and I am only at Dance IV, EH III. Believe me, try being there once in a while, it may seem boring, but it WILL shorten your grind substantially in the end.
One of the things I've seen with Entertainer groups that is effective is that every-so-often (maybe every 30mins) The group leader takes a "roll-call" using group chat. If the entertiner fails to respond after three times, he get's booted from the group.
You'd be suprised how well this works at keeping AFKers out of the group.
