i was wondering if anyone else thinks it would be a lot of fun if we could have a dancing simulation mode like DDR. Quitehonestly i find the dancing slightly lacking, but what if we could chain steps together to create a dance?

I've had tons of fun playing that game...i really should go back and hit some more cash on Drop the Bomb, Lets Groove, and Paranoia.

*grin*

<3 on DDR. Stomp to My Beat, Dynamite Rave...la. I think it'd be hard to come up with our own, the best way, honestly, is the flourishes and switching dances while you play. To let usmake our own steps and such, they'd need to include an editor and such, and that's a whole lot of work.

And, let me remind you what happened last time someone tried putting flourishes and dance steps together by hand.... ;-) XD

nah..what i meant was like a combo system....put certain flourishes in a specific order (remember down, down toward, toward punch for a lot of fireball combos?)......will let us have lengthy and rewarding dance experience as well as incereased healing ability for a short duration. Kind of give us more of a reason to learn timing rather than program a macro.

Yes of course! Wonderful game. If I had room I'd buy the arcade machine, as it is I have to make do with my playstation2 and 2 dancemats.

I also think the simon says approach to music and dance missions has some merit. It would actually provide a clear path for people to learn their flourishes I hope rather than hitting random keys. Finding people who know their flos isn't easy, they are a rare treat I tell you

I enjoy DDR a lot (not the best but I like it, I'm more suited to martial arts and Tai chi, oddly enough DDR is not) but I have a hard time with the hand held version. And also lag would mess things up so it would be hard. Not to mention that the flourishes that you 'hit the beat' to would be anywhere from 4 seconds long to 24 seconds long. It makes it a little slower than DDR, huh? Then there's the lag issue again....

Intersting idea but I don't see the web being able to keep up with the servers.

The director of Project A-Kon (the original US animation convention) bought a couple of them. She plugs them in the Thurs before the con.

They're constantly in use until drug away on Monday.

My roommate has a friend that deals with arcade machines. She talked him into putting a DDR machine in "storage" in our garage. Unfortunately, he ran into some problems with the machine so it never happened.

I haven't played DDR lately. I've grown to like Pump it Up more. They even know how to make good steps to go with cover songs. One of the best done steps in any dance game was for a Beethoven remix. (I think it was from Symphont no. 9, but could be misremembering.) They also did a number of other classic pieces, some popular songs, anda pretty broad mix of styles, so there is something for everyone. In DDR, the steps always seemed to fall into one of three categories.. Easy, fun, or challenging. There was no mix. But PIU has some dances that are, at least to me, both fun and challenging.

But my smile still stays on
