Yeah, its a post that is buried deep into the depths of this forumn, but the subject line simply says it all. This post probably should be posted on the entertainer forum, but anyhow, I'll post it here. Anyhow, how ironic that the line included "grind", this was during a time when cantinas were filled with dancers, musicians, local celebrity tailors and image designers. The cantina and the life of a entertainer whether it be a dancer or musician was at its peek. Who knew that this word would be pretty much the topic that we see through many of the posts now.
I'm a Master Dancer/Entertainer/Composer who exclusively plays in npc player cities such as Theed, Coronet, and Bestine, and you know what, the subject of this line is what I hold true to my heart. I do these professions, simply because it allows me to roleplay and have fun with it. I'm well aware of cantinas now being a sea of afker holo-"grind"ing players and its the fault of how the system structure is, but does that stop me from having a blast with the few true entertainers (ones who plays the profession because they choose to and love performing) in the cantina? It most certainly doesn't.
I'm there to entertain not only myself, but for my group and most of all, the visitor to the cantina. I want the old timer players to have that sense of that old cantina feel, letting them know, that we're not a profession that simply vanished away. I also want new players to the game(choosing the entertainment profession because they want to) be encouraged about the profession they chose and continue doing it, not be discouraged by the whole hologrinding effect we see now.
We chose the dancer profession (I would say entertainer, but since this is the dancer forum, I'll stick to dancer..hehe) because we wanted to have fun, by performing not only for us, but the customer as well. I'm not saying to those who left the profession that they did the wrong thing, because everyone should do what they feel is the best for themselves. All I'm saying is that this profession can still be fun with all the hologrinding and such going on. Okay, maybe I'm just rambling on and on, but I do know one thing.....
