BF healing was to get players back into the cities. There is a more powerful force ....

SHOPPING

What if merchants could rent space in a corellia high rise or other buildings? Cities such as Theed and Coronet could be great money sinks (high demand = high rent). Merchant stores in cities like Moenia and Tyerna could make it possible to dance in those cantinas.

Entertainers who frequently dance in a city would most likley know the local shops. A newcomer shopping would be wise to stop by the cantina and ask the entertainers there. Likewise, merchants could pay entertainers to promote their store ( obviously, AFK & spam macro problems needs to be fixed first ).

How it could work...

The cost for a shop would be dynamic for each building. More players demanding space in a building, the higher the rent for the shop in that building.

So, it starts....

Every merchant rents a shop in Theed and Coronet and rent begins to raise and if no one moves out goes through the roof over the following weeks. Merchants who can't afford to rent in the big cities move to other cities where the rent is lower. Of course, some merchants would have seen that happening and have already placed a shop in another city.

Hopefully, when things settle, the 'rings' or houses around the cities will disappear and there would be reasons to go to different parts of the NPC cities.

Naturally..... lots of tweeking is in order and I am not foolish enough to think this is flawless. I hope that an attempt to work out the flaws can be made before this is sunk.

I like the combination of Merchant and Entertainer, in that Entertainers are the "locals" who logically would be able to tell you where the good deals are.

I think that a non-spamming means of advertising for a Merchant would be a nice compliment to Entertainer, since by design we're the folks that everyone needs to see eventually if they're doing any kind of combat.

Cantinas have a lot of spam as it is, so some means of making us not spam, yet advertise would be great. How to do that - well, I guess I'll ponder it for a bit. haha.
