I haven't logged my dancer in for a couple of weeks due to a bad AFK experience last time I was on (don't worry, I wasn't the one afk). Anyway, I was trolling through the other forums, and found this. I'm glad to know we're not alone.

Yep yep. AFK is a problem across many parts of SWG. It's just likely the most earth-shaking and noticable for the entertainer professions, as our gameplay is largely concentrated in cantinas. Often the combat AFKers are out loose in thegalaxy somewhere, and may not be as immediately noticed, unless they're AFK loot camping a popular spot.

And thanks for pointing this out. It does help, I think, to know we're not alone in this mess.

I totally understand you. I was on yesterday to do some dancing and the usual communication.... at Bestine Cantina and I was the only atk performer there everyone else (4-5 ents) was afk. There was no group and Which bothered me the most the few people who came in just chose the afk-Ents.

Before that I was at Mos Eisley in the cantina, there were several dancer and even Masters there in a group. I started dancing and suddenly all had the afk tag on, which they had not had on before ... I still wonder what that was all about...

Lately its very hard to find a group of atk ents to chat with..... I accept that some people don't want to talk, but it's getting worse everytime I log on...

I thought entertainers were supposed to be a socila profession? How can you socialize when you're never there? LOL

Anyway,I liked to socialize and talk to people when they would come into the cantina in Bestine (it was a dead cantina before I got there). That lasted for about 2 weeks and then three, THREE, masters showed up to play/dance AFK 24/7. So much for my ATK performances and socializing with the combat classes and pilots needing some healing. I still have to send out a mighty thanks to those select few that cme to the cantina to get their entertainment healing from me and hung out to socialize (you guys and gals know who you are :smileywink

That person also had posted the same thread on the Ahazi forum, and got about the same response. I was so tempted to post about how similar it is to what entertainers have been dealing with, butthen Ithought about letting them figure it out for themselves. Let them get righteous about how it how it's not really playing the game, it hurts the profession, etc., and maybe we'll start seeing some more people coming to understand what the ent professions have been dealing with. Maybe just wishful thinking, I dunno.
