Some time back we had a brief discussion about all the things that could make a buff not actually stick. Since that time I've found the failure rate has dropped some what. In the past 2 months I have onlyhad three patrons who had to try a second time to get the buff. One was applying doctor buffs while trying to watch - not surprising that would interfere. For the other two clients I had set the performance for them and then in the middle of the buff (for various reasons) they were invited to the group I was in. Both their first buffs failed. Has anyone else encountered this? Does the /setp some how get "inactivated" if they join our group? Or was this simply coincidence?

Being invited after /setperf is something repeatable? or just kinda one-off's (or two off in your case ) not able to be online as my dancer atm to test it myself.

I can definitely say that having someone listening/watching and then join your group(not necessarily after being setperformed) can definitely screw up the buff. I would imagine the same holds true if you DO setperform on them.

My guess has always been that joining the group messes with the buff mechanics, so it's not sure which to use - the setperform, or the group passive method. So, it just prevents the buff from working all together.

I've found that having someone join the group while listening/watching already, then doing a /setperform on them, makes the buff work. It seems to then kick in the buff mechanics, rather than having nothing happen.

The other day, I was buffing my combat alt. I did a /setperform. Then I figured, ah hell, I'll just group and make sure I get it. I did everything right, but ended up with a 1 hour buff rather than a 2 hour buff.
