Thread: Is there a guide for entertainer groups

I have a question about a recent decision I made about entertainer groups. I suspect it's already been discussed at some point but not certain where - couldn't find it on a general search. Can anyone tell me if they remember a discussion about when it's "acceptable" by the general community to not accept an invitation to an entertainer group? I don't want to appear to be standoffish if I reject the invite and am not certain the proper way to respond/behave. I'm hoping the discussion isn't in the very ugly "post that will not be named" but if it is I'll bite the bullet and look there.

Thanks for any direction you can provide,

Cheers,

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.

Im not sure everyone will agree on what is acceptable in a entertainer group, so i doubt there is a guide per say. however i expect something along this lines is due with the removal of AFK on the horizon.

I personally act differently depending on which cantina im in. (on Farstar Theed is generally a more 'live entertainer' cantina and mos eisley is busier yet a lot of afk) if im in my live ent cantina i will only group with other live entertainers and generally i lead the group myself and just boot afk people if anyone goes afk. In mos Eisley i often join group to chat with others if anyone there, But allways refuse leader, if there is no one able to take leader but me, means there is no one there to talk to so generally group gets disbanded or afk leader at that point, as i leave the group and just go solo.

I believe that Lei (argentwulf) discussed this in her thread about her take on being a dancer. If I'm not mistake, the thread was alsocopied over to www.swgentertainer.com in case you can't find it easily here.

If you are a master or even the highest skilled dancer in the room it's just poilte to invite the dancers or musicians in training (rampant AFKers or not). If you really just don't like them... Well there is no rule saying you HAVE to group Just keep in mind it's a tad antisocial to those folks and they may harbor ill will towards you.

The most memorable ones for me are Lei's guide and the post Fuschia made on group Do's and Do Not's. I also attempted the subject in my snotty guide, but it's ya'know, snotty.

Thanks much! I knew it had been discussed I just couldn't remember where and didn't want to start another post to rehash the issue.

I find it's more and more difficult for me to make choices that fit my 'playstyle' without seeming to offend others so even on issues where there isn't complete agreement it's helpful to read the opinions of others and their rationale behind their choices.
