Hello fellow Dancers.

As an aspiring Dancer,I find myself in situations where I am totally negated as a person and labeled nothing more than a mere bot.
I've came to an understanding that,If any dancer who does not sport his or her "Master Dancer" tag, they will find themselves in situations of being ignored and worthless to the people and consumers.

I love the Dancer profession and I intend to stay a Dancer, but why must aspiring dancers have to experience a rough and unpleasant journey towards their goal of being a Master Dancer?

I'm sorry if readers find this post a waste of time.I just wanted to share some of my experiences as an aspiring dancer.

Until you find the cantina or group of players that supports live entertainer play... It's gonna be a rough trip up the skill ladder.

Our Cantina is occasionally full of life with great people and personalities. My face is marked with a frown, when our group has no Master Dancer/Musician.
I suppose it's the nature of being a Dancer, which is quite disappointing as it is a rewarding profession.

A community is what you make it and you have to put in as much as you want to get out. I took up dancer partly because I wanted a more social aspect to life and to get know more people and partly because I fancied the challange of a new profession.

I tried various cantinas in the galaxy, but the one I felt most comfortable in was Theed (Chimaera), not too good for BF healing compared to Corolag, but less spamming and patrons with a little more time to spare.

I decided not to be an afk bot, which often left me the only atk dancer in the entire group. But when another atk entertainer was a round we chatted. I also made the effort to talk to patrons who came in. Of course you got some who where either totally uninterested in responding or way too interested. But there were also those who were happy to chat.

Gradually I noticed more ents were atk and I was getting to know more of the patrons, I began to get a few regulars for buffing too. Theed is a great place to hang out and now I have lots of friends who help me out, and I them, as well as my guild too. There are now more atk entertainers there as well, which is allto the good and the social atmosphere is great.

So keep at it, make an effort to talk to people, increasing your circle of friends and you will find it much more rewarding.

Unfortunately, the advent of the buffbot blight has caused patrons to treat those of us the entertainer profession as though we were nothing more than NPCs to be used, spat upon and derided. May buffbot owners not only encourage this behavior but lead the procession with their combat alts. Fortunately, this can back fire on them as it did for one who was harrassing my aspiring dancer, Shianne, on Chilastra.

You will need to do a little leg work to find a group of live entertainers to perform with. If Wanderhome has an entertainer chatroom, hooking up with them there can be easy enough. If nothing else, having others to chat with while you are holed up in a cantina full of robots can help you keep your sanity . . . As with the real life entertainment business, "who" and "how many" you know can be important to help keep you in the loop.

Good luck and keep the faith!

Yes a support group definitely makes it easier. A loan dancer can seem lost in the sea of bots that abound. After all the social aspect is a very large part of who we are, not only with patrons, but alsoour fellow Ents . Iseem blessed in finding these on whatever server I seem to be, and its the only reason I'm still here, Good luck finding yours. Oh and btw I'm a Master Dancer on two servers I received my first well over a year ago but rarely if ever wear the MD tag so thats a personal call.

All a master brings is full strength buffs, we provide nothing else you can't provide from novice dancer/musician up. If people only want buffs and are rude ignore them. You are lucky to have a great group of ents to hang out with in the cantina. If you have any of the tech tree then you can also buff although it will be weaker those combat players may take that over nothing.

You will find that in the waves of combat players that enter a few will enjoy talking and watching. Do some things to liven up the cantina, if you have several dancers there live then line up, do the same dance, and use band flo to put on a show. It means a hit to experience for a little while but having fun is way better than grinding to the next box. Simply take turns on who does the flos. Greet people as they enter that way those who do enjoy talking will notice you are live and linger to chat.

Leveling is when I made most of my entertainer friends and several combat friends. This is the time you get to know a group of people at or near your same levels who you get to celebrate every advancement with. These are likely the same entertainers you will know best when you all master and wander off to different activities. It is this group that you can work with to create bands, dance troupes, and even hunting groups if you have other skills. So ignore the rude ones and enjoy the other entertainers and the kind combat players. You will be amazed how many friends you can end up making.

Thanks to all the wonderful buffbots and their supportersout there, I'm no longer interested in getting Master Dancer or Master Musician. I made Master Entertainer, went Novice Dancer and Novice Musician, and decided to only go up the knowledge trees of both (I posted a thread on these same feelings you're having awhile back). The rest of my points are spent in medic (2/0/2/0) and pistoleer (1/0/2/2 so far). I've been asked why I'm keeping any entertainer skills at all...well easy answer to that one. I hunt with friends and when we need mind wounds and BF healed, I can do that. My guild loves the fact that they can hunt with me and not have to travel back to Theed or Coronet to get healed. We drop a camp and fix wounds or stop into the taverns on Dathomir for total heals.

It's funny to see a tiny Twi'lek sporting the Apprentice Gunfighter title and toting a Mandoviol around.

I look foward on doing exactly what you mentioned. It just so happens,The Wanderhome galaxy has an all new entertainers guild by the name of Groove Armada "Groov".With the founders and current members working hard to make this wonderful association work,I will hopefully join up and contribute for all dancers across the galaxy.(I know this sounds like a beauty pageant speech,so sue me )

I find it very pleasing, most of you dancers on this board are dedicated to your professions. With all the thoughtful replies everyone remarked on,I am seeing SWG by a whole new angle .

Thank You

You don't even have to do this. When you see the bandfloon the system message, initiate your own flo, you do the synched flo but still get the xp.

Nice to see they came up with an origanl name

Hope it goes well, being a dancer wouldn't be close to half as much fun without the other dancers I've gotten to know.
