You can complain, but nothing will happen
CSRs will just tell you to /addignore the buffbot if the spamming is anoying you (and I do it, and don't care about the bots anymore

Please feel free to! Believe me, the whole issue has been a thorn in the side of active Entertainer community for some time now. We have complained much about it, and for the longest time, got no help from the devs. However, we have in recent times gotten assurance from the devs both that the ability to AFK will be removed (and hopefully soon now) and that our professions will be revamped in the near future which will hopefully make the profession better, more fun to play, and hopefully remove the ability for our key game mechanics to be so easily macroed away. We are awaiting these changes as patiently as we can, and we have our correspondents applying the whips to the devs, hopefully, to get them done as soon as possible.

I had to chuckle over this. You are absolutely right! It definitely ruins the atk dancers play experience. But, I laughed because, coming from the perspective of a live entertainer, this has beenthe BIGGESTgame breaking issue for SO long that it seems like an obvious answer. But, I do understand how someone who hasn't visited the dancer forums before might not be aware of it.
Anyway, it's great to see other non-entertainers who feel as we do. Those type of posts are always great to read.
Please do submit a ticket. You will probably get the same response as the rest of us. But, it never hurts to have more voices, especially non entertainers complaining about this. Thanks!

Another thing that can help is that when " Recursive Macros are Going Away" goes on TC/live, there's going to be a LOT of anger directed at us live ents.
*We* know this change isn't just for us, but is for AFK loot campers, tumblers, doctors, POI campers, vendor spammers, etc. etc. But I'm pretty sure we're gonna hear a lot about how the lazy entertainers whining about buffbots caused the devs to ruin everyone's gameplay. So, we'll need a lot of non-entertainer support then, on forums as well as in game, to keep morale up.
Thank you for your comments and patronage.

I now have a policy of ignoring any afk (and sometimes frequent-message annoying atk) spammers I happen to come across. My ignore list is longer than my friends list. I have in my bio "if I'm not answering you, you're probably on my ignore list. I ignore all spammers. Don't take it personally."

I would love to say I am just your normal combat person..
but, my kid plays too... and wanted a dancer..so guess who ran the entertainer?
I think I afk'd during poplock... thats about it.
I am amazed by the amount of people that have accounts they dont play at, and they
defend their right to do it... seems so odd. mind you, I suppose making your own
doc or entertainer means you dont have to actually make friends... explains much
about many attitudes I suppose.
Me, I play, and I respect other people that do... the people that dont, really doesnt matter
how wonderful your main is... since they are likely camping somewhere anyway.
anyway, the combat side of me applauds the atk performers...

/wave .... Hi
I agree. /addignore is your best friend in cases like these. It's a shame too. It should be an option on theradial menu too because I hate typing out some of thoe names too. Oh well, whateverit takes. Doubt seriously putting a ticket in will help at all. But it also can't hurt.

I have a question for you all. Let me preface this by saying that I've often stopped in cantinas to chat with the non-afkers, and was always rewarded by a lively conversation. There are also times that I've just run in for a quick mind-wound healing session or buff and left.
I see a whole lot of negativity toward the afk dance/music buffbots. Maybe this has been talked about before, but are you all aware of what would change if these recursive entertainer macros were gone. The buffbots server hundreds and maybe thousands per day, and these are often the 'l33t d3wds' who don't care much for conversation and view getting buffed merely as an inconvience to going out and fighting some more. Are you all prepared to get hundreds of /tells per day demanding mind buffs? I find it difficult at times to keep more than a couple conversations going at once, I can't even imagine what it would be like getting interrupted in PMs or spatial every minute by a buff request. Sometimes I think that many of those most adamant against the ent buffbots can not envision what it will be like if they are gone.

If you use %NT in spatial chat it will replace that with the first name of whoever you have targetted. So maybe target them and "/addignore %NT " would work. Worth a try I guess.

Alternatively the l33t d3wds might learn some manners in order to get what they want.
Any gunbunny learns pretty quickly that if you annoy the local doctor, you're killing nunas for the day. Now substitute entertainer for doctor.
Instead of separating out the l33t d3wds becuase they are intolerable, perhaps giving them some life lessons in manners might be a better approach. But the only lessons are hard lessons, learned when something they "need" is denied because of their attitude.

LOL just Sunday I did a small DWB group. One of the players was mouthing off at my fee and the uselessness of entertainers. I informed him robots might be free but this was MY time he was paying to disrupt and then introduced him to /deny. He had to go home to mommy because he didn't have the buffs to join the hunt.

Maybe so, but I'm not just talking about them. There is still a very large PvE/PvP/FS/Jedi grinding population, and especially on the more populous servers I think the live entertainer group is neither able nor necessarily willing to provide service for so many. Take doctors as an example, the live buffers spend hours at a time hitting the same macro at the Coronet starport, and there's little time for anything else while this is going on. I doubt whether that proposition is very appealing to most entertainers.
