Well. I always thought that one of the preconditions for griefing is when the alleged victim feels griefed and complains about it. And if they are AFK, they can't feel griefed. They can't feel anything for that matter, because they are just a bunch of pixels and a macro. You can only grief other players, not a macro.
Of course if they came back on and asked you to stop, and you didn't (no matter if it's because you don't feel like it or because you're AFK yourself), then it could very well be considered harassment.
Anyway, I've done that from time to time - set up in an outpost cantina (Dantooine MO or Dathomir maybe), shut down the resident buffbot by /inviting (non-macroed) whenever their cycle ended, and took over buffing any who wanted it myself (once or twice in cooperation with a Master Dancer to coverboth buffs).
And I don't feel guilty about that in the least, for me it's a perfectly valid thing to do. If they want me to stop that, they can tell me so, and I will. Hasn't happened yet though ![]()
