I once had an idea...

dancing lyrical with two swords.

Well I dunno about dancers, but musicians can already kick the butt of any mob in combat.

It's quite simple, really. All you need is novice entertainer in fact, and a slitherhorn.

Equip the slither, and play unflourished SW1 at them. All mobs will either die from the sound or flee the area instantly.

I may get flamed badly for this, I may not, we'll see

I hada memory today, while talking with a jedi friend about how pretty the lightsaber is and how i wish i could dance with one. A memory of my first days in the game almost 2 years ago when trying to decide what professions to pursue. I looked at the list and knew i would be a dancer, and though to myself "ooo. Swordsman! Dancer! Bladedancing! yes!"

My trip down memory lane got me to thinking wishfully about what could have been and what could be.

Think of this:

You're in the cantina, dancing happily, doing your thing, socializing, enjoying yourself.... Your guild decides its time to hunt, so you dawn your dancers leotard, with your uber CA on it +12 dance evasion, +10 group mind regeneration, and you take up your curved sword...

you're in combat, and the group accidently agros a few too many mobs, so you use /changed lyrical2 and /flo4 to get your area KD working... then its /changed tumble2 because you now have the agro from most of the mobs... good thing you have that +12 dance evasion mod on your leotard right?

anyway... just wistful thinking i suppose, but the dancer as a combat profession could be VERY beautiful and very interesting.

Wishful thinking? Get TKM, and you can tank like described. It may not look as pretty, but with the current combat system one suually focusses on the enemy and the timers for specials, not the animations anyway.

In fact... pick up a 1 handed or 2handed sword than has no profession restrictions to use with TKM

This thread has again made me start wanting duel-weild swords.

You're giving me thoughts about the D&D class called a shadowdancer. I've used that title for Chii for some time now, even though I've given up my melee skills.

A shadowdancer is something of a combination short-swords(knives?) and dancer, to make a rather ninja-ish (although not quite) assassin type. I love the idea. I wish we had it in-game... requiring some dance skill, and some fencer skill.

Fixed that for you, Chii . . . . . .

Err? We have fencer and dancer in game. What more do you need to play a shadowdancer other than imagination and style?

Remember, folks.... SWG is professio based, not some class-limited fantasy game. You can mix and match skill trees and professions to create the character you want.

Instead of wishing for some special class, make your special character and play it!
