Last night I danced for several hours in the Theed cantina and had an absolute blast. It was just like my early days as a dancer - well except for all the falling. Patrons were witty and chatted with the entertainers. We were tipped for being interactive and healing their fatigue and for buffing. When I first arrived in the cantina it wasn't looking too promising. There were 4 dancers grouped but who were apparently AFK or so unaccustomed to making conversation that they were completely stunned into silence. So when another dancer arrived and asked for an invite he and I formed our own group. Despite the other AFK group having the center stage of the room, most patrons chose to watch us (I was greeting and making conversation with everyone as they entered) and soon our group had grown to about 10 entertainers. It was so much fun I debated going on the hunt with my husband (just don't tell him
). I continued to get a few tells from some of the patrons telling me how much they enjoyed having non-afk healers and buffers in the cantina for hours after I had left. I can't wait to get back to the cantina! A feeling I haven't had in quite some time.
I'd also like to share that the male dancer who first grouped with me was trying to level in his final healing skill before reaching Master Dancer. At one point he had to leave his keyboard and actually stopped dancing and sat with his AFK tag up rather than just continue to run a macro. It meant he missed a lot of XP but I was so heartened that a "new" dancer shared the No dancing while AFK creed that I sent a few tells to people I knew would be in the area asking them to be sure to come heal with this dancer once he returned.
Sometimes it may not feel like it but we are winning the war to take back our professions!

That's great! I'm glad you had a good night. I did too, and also in Theed!Last night lots of people hung around socializing, it was really fun.
There was one dancer who was spamming for heals, even though she had a buff! I guess it was in her macro. She was also obviously AFK but had disabled the auto-AFK function, so I had to manually /addignore her. I got a laugh when several of my mind buff customers started mocking her. Just more proof that spamming is a sure way to earn disrespect, not heals or tips.

Theed certainly seems to be good fun at the moment. I hope it remains so, good group sizes usually with a good proportion of ATK entertainers.

A few nights ago Roho and I were in the Theed cantina for a bit. A couple ent friends were with us and Roho was practicing his dancing techniques. We were toward the back beside the bar and still someone found us who wanted buffs. And they had to go through a lot of people to find us, but we were talkative and active so that might have caught their eye. Since I came in through the back entry, I don't know how many AFKers were actually there - especially up in the lobby - but there were plenty of live entertainers to be seen and heard. It was almost overwhelming - but in a good way!
