Not very many people seem happy with the macro nerf. Non entertainer players are concerned with how they are going to be healed and buffed during non peak times, and entertainers themselves are having issue with this.
In thinking about this problem, I thought of an idea and I wanted to run it past you all here:
My idea is to create NPC Entertainers, similiar to merchants that Master Dancers & Musicians could locate in their cantinas, entertainer tents or houses. These NPCs would be able to provide buffs for a price. The entertainer would have to pay maintenance on them just like merchants, they would be able to charge a price for their services. This solution could hopefully use similar if not the some same code as the trainers and merchants. There could still be benefits for Entertainers that are entertainers because they like it, the buffs could be faster, (say 2 minutes for full buff) and last longer (say 3 hours to be more inline with doc buffs) and mabe even more powerful and *gasp* maybe both Dancers and Musicians could do all 3 mind buffs!! While the merchant type entertainers would be as much of a pain as getting buffed today, you would need to go to a Dancer merchant and a Musician Merchant to get all 3 buffs.
Just an idea... what do you all think?

I think you need to cancel your buffbot account and stop whining.

I would keep posting and debating you on if i was whining or not... but arguing on the boards is like running in the special olympics... even if you win you are still retarded.

My concern about such an idea is that it trades one NPC buffbot in for another. Err... sounds like no change to me, except what, we could control the spamming or the delivery?
No, in my mind it's no different. I think that people are panicky right now about a perceived entertainer shortage, and I really don't think it'll be as big a thing as people are worried about - if they'll do their part as well. I'd wager to say that most entertainers who are still playing have simply not been very visible during these Dark Times (tm) of AFKing and buffbots, because the cantinas simply weren't any fun being overrun like that. It's a two-way street here... entertainers will have to come back from the far reaches of the galaxy from time to time and take up entertaining again, but players in need of entertainer healing and buffs will have to seek us out as well.

If you read my post... and i am not sure you really did, nowhere in there does it say anything about this not going in. As a matter of fact all this idea would be for if (yes, IF) the macro change is implememted so the majority of the playing population does not get screwed over in the process. The only thing I think is worse than the people whining (and beleive me, i am NOT whining, despite what you think) is the pompus people running around thinking they are somehow better than the other players because they are "real" entertainers not some hologrinders or buff bots taking great pleasure in rubbing the nerf in peoples faces. I could really care less either way, my wife is an entertainer I get my buffs from here so it is not going to hamper me at all, I was just trying to help the community out by throwing out an idea.

Bleh, I don't do this very often, so read it quickly:
I'm sorry.
You're right, I've got a bug in my ass about all the people whining about the loss of recursive macros, didn't mean to take it out on random passersby. Anyway, I just don't like the idea of NPC entertainers. That would totally ruin our profession, for good. It would make us obsolete, the only thing an NPC entertainer would have up on a buffbot is that the player seeking a buff would be required to pay.
I don't wanna be obsolete.
Not when they've finally done something right to our profession, LOL.

I really do hope that this turns out good for entertainers. Good luck!
